Buchanan is a bad stylistic match-up for Arguello, imo. A hard punching, accurate boxer-puncher with primarily an outside game vs a teak-tough, more fleet-footed boxer with an educated left and better handspeed.

Arguello's ace is power and accuracy, Ken's is speed and toughness. If Arguello doesn't stop him (and he could!) I think Buchanan brings home a close decision.

Arguello actually has the stylistic advantage over Duran -- pinpoint long-range power-puncher vs a perpetual bull spells knockout usually -- but it doesn't matter. Duran's combination of sheer physicality at 135 (chin, power, stamina, speed) and craft is nigh invincible at the weight. I realize what a statement that is, but I stand by it.

Only the very best at lightweight at their very best night have a shot at beating the best Duran at 135.

Duran would stop Arguello around the 13th round, a little too much ruthlessness for Alexis to handle at that point in time.
