Sir, because Manny Pacquaio is no Roberto Duran.

Who is saying he will never come back anyway?

the difference is that Duran was stopped by Hearns. How many guys hit like Hearns and are as fast like Hearns? Duran never faced another fighter in his 35 more fights he fought after Hearns who hit as fast and hard as Hearns. But Manny is going to fight guys who are just as fast as JMM and hit hard. Different situation. Duran could just say he fought one of the hardest punchers ever and was stopped and then move on from it, and he did that. And he moved on well from it and won a title and had another 17 year career. Different situation.

I am not that fellow who said that, but getting to the Hagler fight, Duran did not win, and 2 years before that at a lighter weight Duran was outclassed by Benitez for a title, which Duran fans rarely mention the Benitez fight. And I have always stated Leonard was the variable in the fights with Leonard. He won the last two fights easily. Although I never said Manny was greater than Duran. I have said Manny beat many more ATG fighters than Duran. Duran only beat one, who then came back and beat him easily. Duran is more iconic than Manny that is for sure.

I wish I could say Leonard was prime. Leonard was on his second defense of his first title. The most prime he was would be 1982 when he retired for the first time. The fact that Ray fought Duran's fight because he wanted to beat Duran at his own fights shows that he had not developed into the complete fighter he was for Hearns and Hagler later on. Later he fought the styles he had to for the win. Duran fight one taught him that.
