Sorry man but Hagler Mayweather would not even be competitive. Floyd would get smashed. It would be a career shortening beating if he had the misfortune of surviving the first 4 rounds. If he's lucky, he gets saved in 4.

Castillo and Maidana were able to punch Mayweather at will, Miguel Cotto same, just imagine what a prime Duran would do to Mayweather!

Well if Buchanan did a good job at making Duran miss just imagine how many times he'd miss and be hitting air against a 135 pound Floyd. Like I said, it would be a great offense vs a great defense and I think it would've been a 50/50 type fight. In no way can I see Floyd being beaten up in that fantasy fight.

It's a 50/50 fight for me and I would lean towards Mayweather because of the speed. I don't think that Duran could handle the speed.

The problem is when you say 'great offence vs a great defence' - that's not accurate at all:
Duran had great defence. Floyd's offence is far too little, and Duran's offence was far too great.

Moreover, Buchanan has a completely different style to Floyd and Floyd struggles massively with lesser fighters who are stylistic threats. Honestly, have a close look at just how much more limited Castillo whilst comparing that to Duran - it's very frustrating to watch if you're a Castillo fan.

Interesting that you mention Duran-Buchanan. Watch the fight (TURN COMMENTARY OFF). Watch how ferocious Duran was at cutting the ring off coupled with Floyd's weird tendency to always fall to the ropes, bullying on the ropes - the dirtiness to add to that, ring generalship, always finding a way to land a decent enough shot(s) on the inside. That would put to bed why a prime Duran would convincingly beat Mayweather. It's truly ignorant to suggest otherwise. I am in complete disbelief at a few mentions on this thread of the Benitez fight, it is baffling how this is considered with any notable weight.

I guess the OP meant to pay FM the ultimate compliment by reaching for Duran to find a fantasy match-up where the odds would favour a Mayweather loss. Cleverly disguised mind, but it's there if you look closely enough...

Yeah well, it's a hypothetical Fantasy fight in which no opinion is a wrong opinion nor an ignorant one. Lol

You gents keep combining a late 147 lb Floyd with the 135 lb Floyd. I would lean for Floyd at any weight but more so at 135. Too much speed and accuracy. Oh, and enough power to keep Duran honest.
