After watching him in the first Leonard fight last week, I must say that I don't like him. I've had nothing against him in the past, but now I do. After the fight was over and Leonard reached out to shake his hand Duran just brushed it aside. What a classless *******! Maybe that's how it was in Panama or something, but common friggin' decency is universal. And then he started making lude jestures at Leonard and Wilfredo Benitez, who was ringside, acting like he destroyed Leonard or something. I thought the fight could have went either way. And even before the fight, Duran made personal attacks at Leonard and his family. Talking bad about the opponent is one thing, but to stoop so low as to go after the family with personal attacks is just inexcusable. He called his wife a hoar, among other things. And then carrying on after the fight like he was the baddest man in the world was just comical. Saying that he won the fight because he was "more of a man", then Leonard. Sure he was more of a man. Making personal attacks about Ray's wife, acting up after the fight like a little biotch 12 year old who got his lollipop taken away from him, and refusing to shake his hand after the fight is real mature manliness huh idiot? At least Leonard conducted himself with class that night, and he was more of a man than Duran will ever be. During the fight I think Leonard matched him blow-for blow, and IMO the yell of the crowd may have been the deciding factor in the scoring of the fight. Everytime Duran did something good they yelled with excitement. Even when he missed they cheered. When Leonard did something good there was no reaction whatsoever. Maybe that's why many people here claim that Duran annihilated Ray or something to that nature. Nobody annihilated anybody. Karma is a dog, and Duran got just what he deserved in the rematch. This time instead of going to war, Leonard did what he was supposed to do, box him. Leonard's plan that night was to stick, move, taunt, and embarass! Duran was out of his element. Sure he could handle a guy that came right at him, but put some movement on him and he's lost. I was so glad Ray humiliated him like that, and was dishing out the same treatment he was getting from Duran before. You know the old saying, "He can dish it out, but he certainly can't take it!". Ray humiliatingly beat him up and made him quit like the ***** he is! To me that victory was more decisive than the decision win from Monreal. No doubt Ray took a portion of Roberto Duran's legend that night.:good I'm now adding Duran-Leonard II, and Hearns-Duran to my "favorite fights" collection. Well, I'm done.:bbb

An ali fan disliking another fighter for taunting and being classless is just about as funny as it gets.

That said i agree.Duran was a piece of **** as a person at least in so far as his boxing persona is concerned.

    For real.

At least Duran and Leonard put it behind them and got along well during their commercial shoot.

Frazier still detests Ali to this day.

you need a new spanish english dictionary. maricon means homosexual male so i doubt if he was referring to juanita. if you are going to rant at least rant correctly.

love him or hate him, cholo is cholo. the in the ring personna is nothing like the person. almost as close to oposite as you can get.

An Ali- nuthugging kiddie cries now because Duran said bad things about one of his opponents. I smell a double standard here...

Good statement though duran is a good guy, he just went a bit far in his determination to win (like ALI) in his younger days. But coming from the streets of panama where he would have to fight for every meal played a part in duran's classlesness. he has had to fight hard for everything

Ali doesn't have the same execuse for some of the things he did. the way he treated frazier was scandolous

Ali did it as showmanship. He never made personal attacks at someone's family. It was playful, and all in good fun. Duran was just plain nasty. There's a big difference.:good

Just shut up, he said so many unbelievable racist things for example, but you call it "just 4 fun". Typical for a nuthugger... :patsch

Anyone with a brain knows that what Ali did to his opponents and what Duran did to Leonard is totally different. Duran verbally attacked Leonard's family and said nasty things about his wife. That's much worse than calling an opponent a mummy or a "big bear".
