I don't know that it's a cop-out, or that anyone could convince me it is without absolute proof (like a candidly audiotaped conversation leaking out) given Katsidis' mentality up to now in his career. He comes to fight, anybody anytime anywhere...even if it means copping a beating. My take is that he did a lot of soul-searching before deciding to fight on in the wake of his brother's death...and probably regretted doing so afterward (especially with Merchant's dumb awkward ass inadvertently humiliating him for all the world to see). He's learned the lesson that personal crises come first and boxing can - and should - wait. Look, I don't like Andre Berto at all but I fully support his decision to pull out of the Mosley fight and help out in Haiti 100%. This is just like that.
:deal Agreed. If this guy was an *******, it's one thing, but Katsidis is one of boxing's nice guys. Hang in there champ.
Same here. Katsidis is a hell of a fighter and a good guy. Nobody can hate on him. They would have no reason to really. It just does seem like a flood is nothing compared to your brother dying.
Hopefully they can revsisit this in the future. Would have been a good fight. But, first things first.
I thought Golden Boy was trying to move the fight from March to the April JMM-Morales ppv to give Katsidis more time. Besides the Bronner-Litzau match up is pretty interesting and a nice step up for Bronner.
Oh so you you dont buy that over 20 people have died in his hometown and and there still trying to recover from 2 weeks of constant flooding?? Their still pulling dead children out of the mud and water but Reppin501 dont buy it?? Well buddy you opinion is fu*king stupid, it's quite obvious your a hater and you have no idea. He has fought anybody who has come his way, fought over seas in the US and the UK and never complained when half the American fighters wont leave their back yard cause there bit*hes. Reppin501 = DUMBASS YOKEL
Yeah...I mean, he dedicated the performance to him and everything...and then how it turned out (like a horrible backfiring of Douglas-Tyson). That's a big hit. The physical pain Marquez dealt him must seem secondary.
Dude, could you do me a HUGE favor and please shut the **** up. We all endure trials and tribulations, I have no question that the floods in Australia are tragic and I sincerely pray for them and their families. Is he over there helping in the recovery of the "dead children being pulled from the mud and water"? If he's not there assisting and if he's not caught in this carnage, I don't see it as more impactful than his brother dying, that is just my opinion, last I checked I was still entitled to one of those. Intentional Butt made a valid point that I acknowledged and conceeded as such. Thanks for the discussion newb ***, I'll cherish it going forward.
No doubt about it, that kind of loss (not the fight, but his brother), has a way of changing your perspective...what's important etc.
**** off you twat, the town he comes from just lost a dozen people in the worst flood in recorded history, cut him some slack... he deserves to pull out after the 6 months he just had
