I see it being a bit like the Acosta fight. Gamboa will look great early on, peppering Rios with shots and moving well but as the rounds go on I see Rios wearing him down and getting the stoppage.

That being said, if Rios doesn't lose the weight right and struggles to shift it like he did against Murray, then all bets are off. Even with that scenario I would be very impressed if Gamboa got the win after jumping 2 divisions and taking on a guy who is huge for that division.

Gamboa is a G for even going for this fight.

Gamboa is going to win a decision, he is going up 2 weight divisions so he is not going to punch harder than Rios. Gamboa is already pretty well built so he will look very stocky/bulky at LW but I don't think he will transfer that power, most fighters need @ least a yr to get accustomed to the punching at the increased weightclass properly. I think Rios will struggle to get a good rhythm going because Gamboa will time him on his way in a box on the backfoot over 12 rds. Superior boxing ability and speed to carry Gamboa to a 12 UD.

Rios is going to have no respect for Gamboa's power. Gamboa has fast handspeed and quick feet, but those types of styles can't run away from guys like Rios (pressure fighters) all night. You will always expand more energy running away and trying to create space instead of fighting.
Rios is also very underrated in the defense department. If you notice after his fights he isn't very swelled or cut often. The guy rolls with punches and creates necessary angles much like Glen Johnson to get out of harms way.

The weight jump means nothing to Gamboa. This man is an Olympic Gold Medalist, a Cuban amateur legend...He's been "El Cicloning" everybody hes fought in the pro's..he's 30 years old...Rios is a crude schoolyard bully..

Gamboas ass is in some serious trouble gentlemen. I like him as a fighter but Rios just got too much dog in him. I give the nod to Rios and if Gamboa runs outa space, Rios is gonna leave him where he catches him.:bbb

No shame if Gamboa backs out of this fight.
