This is the fight that makes me think Alvarez needs to start getting used to slick boxing, USA style. Gonzalez made it a difficult win. However, I'm surprised more people don't use Gonzalez as a sparring partner to prepare for Mayweather, he seems perfect for that. What do you think? Pac needs to get this guy for his training.

I've seen three fights of Garcia's. The guy punches like a mule. What makes him very dangerous, that I recognized immediately, is his heart is bigger than those other guys you mentioned who are slicker. Check out this comeback win. A guy like this can be dangerous for anyone imo.

Euri would give Pac good sparring but it's understandable why you don't see him sparring top guys too often, you gotta pay him the plane tickets, hotel room maybe translator whereas Roach, Nazim, Steward etc. they can all look around in the gym or in the local state for sparring without the extra cost.

Back to Garcia: I consider this fight as a bold move too, a bit too early, I'm in the slow the Canelo Bandwagon down group as IMO some extra time vs. the current competition can only do good and Garcia would be a less risk in 3 or 4 fights from now. But if he can get past him, Alvarez is one step closer to the top competition and that's what they're aiming for.

Yeah, I saw that fight last year. Gonzalez is a solid Dominican fighter. Came into that fight at 30 years old with some nice skill...And "Canelo" fought "Tooth N' Nail" to get the win. The fight I have been trying to find is "Canelo vs Larry Mosley (A tough vet that can Box). Everyone has told me that "Canelo" got a UD that was compltete BS!!!

Please do not mis-understand my critique of "Canelo". He is a DAMN GOOD FIGHTER with IMPRESSIVE Boxing Skill especially for a Mexican Fighter (their mostly brawlers). I would just like to see him matched against some fighters with close to the same skill-level. Is that too much to ask?

It's the SAME CRITICISM for Pacquiao. Is it too much to ask that Pacquiao steps into the ring with a fighter...AT LEAST ONE GOD-DAMN FIGHTER with same level of speed. Throughout his ENTIRE career, he has been carefully matched against fighters that He had a SIGNIFICANT speed advantage...Vasquez, Solis, Diaz, an againg MAB, Morales, Marquez, Dehydrated Oscar, Damaged Hatton and Cotto and MR. LOW ACTIVITY IN CLOTTEY. REALLY????

I just saw the come back win by Garcia, OMG! he got dropped by a vicious left that most boxers would still be sleeping from got up and started trading with da dude. This MoFo has got some balls. I like fighters like Garcia that come to fight, non of that running and holding crap. I would like to see him fight again

Well when will Omar Henry, Shawn Porter, Atwone Smith and Mike Jones fight a solid contender, at least on Euri Gonzalez' level? Canelo has plenty of time but already beat some okay names, just not world class YET.

I have a friend that works out at the Wild Card Gym just to stay in shape, and he said that Garcia was offered to fight against Mike Jones on a major under card in Vegas but Jones' camp turned it down.

before watching Garcia fight Margarito I didn't know much about him but he's not a bad fighter, he just lost to a 3 time world champ. I can see why Jones' people didn't take the fight, he's got crazy power and a hell of a chin. Do you think Mike Jones can beat Garcia?

Margarito wanted to get the rounds, he said it before the fight. Also at 154 he is not as effective as 147 (in terms of punching power).

:deal Garcia had absolutely no waist or head movement he is very hittable and slow, but the guy can definitely bang. I've seen him fall behind in fights, getting outboxed, and the dude just comes from behind and ko's people. He's a ****ing ox. I was surprised to see Margo box circles around this guy and for Margo being a big, strong welter that just showed Garcia was obviously the stronger of the 2. I think Canelo would win a decision, Garcia does telegraph his punches a mile away and Canelo does have exceptional footwork. As long as he let's his hands go and doesn't stay in front of Garza, Canelo will be okay.

The questions are. Will GBP take a chance and fight Garcia with their prospect? Can Canelo handle Garcia's power if he gets cought ? Remember Margo did have the reach advantage and Garcia had a little trouble getting inside. Canelo is shorter at 5'8" and Garcia is listed at 5'10". Garcia has the advantage in height, chin and power. Can Canelo keep Garcia off of him all 10 rounds?
