I still insist that if Duran hadnt punched Ken in the balls, ken would have won that fight & been an even greater ATG than he now is Brenny my good man.

Duran had put so much into the fight that he had nothing left at the end of 12, & Kenny was such a superfit man that Duran felt the tide was turning against him and became desperate. If people dont believe me? watch the full fight. Duran had the best of it, but he had to put so much work in that he plainly gassed, & by the time he hit Ken with the low blow after Buchanan came back strong in the 13th, Duran had nothing left. Cant remember the intimate details as I havent watched it again for a good while, too bloody painful, much like Buchanans ball sack:D

I am convinced that Ken would have stopped him, but heyho!

Fair comments mate Duran to me was the most ferocious man I have ever seen in the ring he just used to dismantle opponents in his prime IMO the greatest Lightweight of all time followed by Benny Leonard then the great Ken Buchanan who was a truly great fighter no doubt people will have differing views but to me Duran has got to be high up in the list of the greatest pound for pound fighters of all time along with the 2 Sugar Rays , hagler, hearns, Joe Louis Ali etc etc

Sorry Dunky but I have to disagree there. Buchanan was lucky to have won 3 of the rounds leading up to the 14th (which never happened). He decided it was time to brawl after the bell and unfortunately ended up coming off worse. He had one chance to win and that was to bait Duran into a DQ unfortunatley that never happened. The only other way was to stop Duran and Ken showed me nothign in that fight to even remotely suggest he could!

A truly remarkable fighter. So many attributes to admire, but the one thing that always stood out for me was his head movement whilst closing the distance on his opponent... i've never seen anyone come close to him in this aspect.

One thing with Duran, few fighters would put you on the edge of your seat like he could.

Fair comments but still a great effort by Ken against IMO the greatest lightweight of all time with a brand of savagery never seen before or since in any ring who can ever forget his fights against Esteban de jesus Pipino Cuevas, Daveymoore and the first Sugar Ray fight Iran Barley when Roberto was an old Man Ok the Nos Mas fight blotted his standing but the Davey Moore fight vanquished the memory of the no mas fight all these fights above his lightweight home where he was simply the best Also one of the greatest Pound for Pound fighters of all time without a shadow of doubt IMO
