Exactly. Not one has stepped up to the mark and explained how they could have scored any of these rounds to Reid 2,3,4,7,8 or 12. I guess Hopkins being beaten has really hit them hard, even after all of these years
a draw really, it gave us an indication of wat joe was at his peak, at the same level as a bit part titlist, but with better longevity.
Ask yourself this. How could you not score rounds 2, 3, 4,7, 8 ( This content is protected ), 12 to Calzaghe? Remember Reid had a point deducted also. I thought like 2 judges that Calzaghe was a clear winner and except for McCrory who scored a draw when ringside, all of the other studio guest scored wide for Calzaghe including Mcguigan and Eubank. I also think damaged handed (damaged his hand in round 4) Calzaghe won and felt he won rounds 1, 9 (Reid did land the punch of the night in round 9 though) & 11. Good away win for Calzaghe
The funny thing about the Reid/Calzaghe fight was how loads of people were banging on about how good Reid must be to give Joe all he could handle, then in his very next fight he got his head boxed off by Silvio Branco
I thought Calzaghe won this fight, but won't watch again as I remember it being kind of ugly and choppy. Anyway, what's the story- as someone mentioned on another thread- with Reid being a part time fighter or something like that?
he was pretty good, but never great. he benefited from grabbing and then losing fast titles in a weak division. outside smw he might not have won a world title.
but herolgee already said its a draw, so your own post has made you look a fool. I however do not think of you as a fool, but I cant stop you posting lies. try not to in future my friend.
I was at the Metro Arena that night in newcastle and to be honest myself and alot of the crowd thought Reid won though very close. Watching the fight back the next day and even now Calzaghe for me anyway clearly wins the fight but Reid did push him not alot in it.
