    Perhaps in part because Maxim lost the title, hence no incentive for Robinson to take the fight.

    maxim didnt lose the title to srr. so why didnt they fight again right after the first one?

    Robinson retired after the fight and didn't fight again for nearly 3 years

    Even if he didn't retire, from a money perspective, it wouldn't have done ray no good, since he would've been fighting an ex-champ.And Ray wanted no parts of Archie Moore.
