The Hearns that demolished Duran vs the Robinson that stopped LaMotta. How does this tear up go?

    Hearns could, Robinson would.

Ray Robinson via mid/early KO in a brutal fight similar to the Hagler Hearns war. Robinson can stay away from Hearn's right and when he lands that left hook on Hearn's relatively weak chin, it would be good night to the Hitman.

Hearns began to believe in his invincibility again after demolishing Duran. If he fought behind his jab, and cautiously Hearns could conceivably win. But Hearns was on a destruction streak. He wouldn't fight cautiously. Against R.Robinson that would be a dangerous and ultimately end up with him getting knocked out. Robinson may have to get off the floor, but he knocks -out Hearns within 10 rds.

Hearns was a light middle when he stopped Duran.

It`s whoever lands the big punch first, I don`t feel Robi can take Tommy`s bombs as well as Leonard did and Tommy`s chin couldn`t take Robi`s best shots, awesome fight, could be a battle of the jabs and Tommy`s jab was longer, this could give him an edge, Robi never fought someone with reach of Hearns. If they fought at welter, light middle and middle you could get three differing fights, that`s how close it would be.

I'm a huge Hearns fan but he just wasn't a great fighter at 160, imo … far different than him at 47 and 54 … Boxing school is in session and SRR lands a lot of clean shots and KO's Hearns ,, In fact, at 47 and 54 , he does the same thing too

SRR was only 155 1/2" against LaMotta so weight would be negligible.

Wasn't he 154? Traditionally that would be considered a middle weight. Robinson was the same weight vs LaMotta

Robinson went 199 fights and the only time he failed to reach the final bell when losing was late in the fight as a 157 1/2" pounder fighting for the 175 title in obscene conditions. He wasn't dropped or stopped via punches. He beat ATG welters as well as top flight middleweights while being under 147 himself. He mixed it up for years and years in the middleweight division against top shelf opponents where as Ray had just a handful of fights there. Robinson also fought into his mid 40's.

I'm not actually saying you are definitely wrong here but Robinson's chin is extremely proven. Leonards chin, particularly at welter, is top shelf as well.

Yes but I`m just saying he never took the right hands Leonard took at welter from a fighter as powerful as Hearns also the amount of punches Ray took off a solid hitter like Duran was something else (again at welter) I`ve never seen on youtube Robi taking that volume of punishment from a bruising fighter like Duran.

There's next to nothing of 147 SRR on film.

I think Robinson had a better chin than Leonard.Ray had no problems with Maxim's jab
