this is like saying that Chuvalo is a better fighter than Joe Louis cause Louis was dropped more times.

I understand what you guys are saying, but you are missing my point. My point is that if a fighter is going to be elevated to the level of Robinson and be far from perfect, than a fighter who comes along ala Mayweather who has even more talent and is undefeated and won titles in multiple divisions should be considered to be possibly greater P4P.

Well done, and considering Robinson fought MUCH better opposition, and far past his prime, this thread becomes even more of a joke.

By your math, Mayweather should have been dropped twice already and he hasn't. He had one fight where his hand touched the canvas because he was in excruciating pain (hardly a knockdown). Also, I never said he had a glass chin, I was pointing out that "the perfect fighter" was hardly perfect.

There's an argument to be made for Mayweather if you simply quote 'undefeated, world titles in 5 weight classes' over and over again. But it's an immensely weak one. One that will get you responses such as 'get the **** off of ESB' or 'you don't know **** about boxing.' And those responses would be very much warranted.

Take into account levels of competition. A fighter can lose 20 times, but defeat 20 hall of famers. I'd take that any day over a 39-0 fighter who's only beaten 1 cemented hall of famer.

Head to head, who would you pick at 147?

Mayweather's best opponents: De La Hoya, Castillo, Hatton

Robinson's best opponents: Gavilan, LaMotta, Basilio

OMG, first off, Robinson had so many more fights then Mayweather has. Getting KD'd 10 times out of almost 200 fights is nothing. Robinson did not "hand pick" his opponents either. He fought everyone. The one ability you did not mention and most probably the biggest attribute a fighter can have, is heart. Surely, Mayweather has never been hurt enough to prove this point but has proven he has no testicles fighting the likes of Hoya again and a possible rematch with Hatton? Joke!

I promise you this, if Mayweather had it his way and the chance to fight Robinson came up, his ***** would scrivel up between his legs, knowing his precious title and rep would be ended with a perfect left hook. BIGITY BAM! That I can guarntee.

Ok so I brought up the this fighter can beat this fighter BS but to compare Mayweather to Robinson is ludicrous (yeah I cant spell, I'm from Louisiana)

It may have something to do with that fact SRR fought like a man unlike PBF. Judah KD Mayweather and I do count that. Mayweather never fought anything close to SRRs resume. Now if he fought and beat Mosley,Cotto and Margarito we might look at him differently.

Mayweather wasn't dropped. His hand touched the canvas when he was in pain from a hand injury. I'm talking about a punch. Second, I disagree that he had better opposition. Once again. you are overrating older fighters and underrating modern fighters. I am a student of the game, and I know who each fighter fough. In 39 fights, Mayweather has fought just as good opposition relative to the amount of fights he has had. Robinson had life and death fights with La Motta. Do you really think Mayweather would have lost to La Motta? I don't care what the weight was, no way would Floyd have lost to him. Also, Mayweather won titles in five divisions, while Robinson in almost 200 fights only won titles in 2. If Mayweather had almost 200 fights, you don't think he would have faced more Hall of Famers?

Even more talent? What kind of bull**** is that? Based on what? Robinson faced and beat FAR better fighters than not only the ones Mayweather has fought, but Ray has actually beaten better fighters than Mayweather himself.

Where do you get off saying he's more talented? And as has been mentioned, in Ray's prime(pre old age, when most of the losses and KD's came) he was 128-1-2, compared to Mayweather's 39-0 against much lesser competition, and a bout many consider him to have lost in the Castillo fight.

Do you think Sven Ottke is better than Robinson as well?
