Saying Robinson is inferior to Mayweather is probably not as bad as this statement.

Was Robinson a gentleman when he used his wife and kids as a punching bag?

    Robinson retired at age 44.

It most certainly is. There is no case for Mayweather being greater than Robinson at boxing, whereas, while Robinson was an abusive husband at times due to the nature of his career and life, Floyd has had some spousal abuse issues as well in case you don't remember. Not to mention, even though Ray was a terrible bargain, he at least fought top competition(moreso than Floyd) and was a gentleman in public, whereas Floyd is a hard bargain and is a total dick in public.

I think, when balancing everything out, the statement that Floyd is better than Robinson is a worse one.

    Yeah, that's true.

    They're both very ridiculous though.

He's never even been married. He gripped up a girlfriend who was breaking **** in his house, then she she lied and said he hit her(she later recanted on the stand).

Yeah, I was off about spousal abuse, I kind of knew that when I posted it, but I knew he'd been on trial for female abuse or some ****. If that's the case then my last post is just a tad off.

I think Mayweather's been accused or arrested a couple times of domestic violence.

However, it is idiotic to downgrade his personality and then trump up someone like Ray Robinson, whose own son believes that his spousal abuse caused Edna Mae's miscarriages.

There were a couple of conniving bitches that claimed he walked up to them in the club and punched them in the face for no reason. Curiously, they didn't go to the hospital or file a police report.

    That's terrible.

He talked about it during the countdown show when he fought Gatti.

I was reffering to his demeanor to the general puclic guys. Didnt mean for it to come accross as me saying he was a perfect man. He was a boxer lets not forget, at a time in history when they were not known for their caring, nurturing side. However I was simply implying that Floyd couldnt give two fuks about anybody but himself. Just the way he was raised i guess

And robinson fought his last fight at age 52.

Then why did he just pay for an entire Golden Gloves tournament? Why does he have so many damn charity fundraisers and clothing and food drives? I'm not trying to say Lil Floyd is perfect, but let's not pretend he doesn't give back.

Because he knows that these events will generate a larger fanbase for him, therefor generating more money come show time. Small price to pay when compared to his takings.

Now you're being ridiculous. He's now donating to charity to make money. Great job Columbo, way to expose Mayweather for his little scheme. I bet everyone is dying to shell out 50+ dollars for his next fight because of his charity work.:rofl

C'mon man, you know damn well his skills and trash talking are what sell tickets. Nobody is paying hundreds of dollars for tickets because they read about Mayweather organizing a food drive. Most people don't even know about that stuff. They couldn't care less. However, if he throws money at the camera or calls his opponent a *****, then everyone pays attention.
