    Maybe, although I was thinking of fighters who fought in the years recently before Robinson and outlined his style.

    In some ways they are similar, like you mentioned. But I do think Brown was more unorthodox and 'flashy' whereas Robinson especially in his earlier days was more business.

    I think Joe Brown is very similar to Panama Al Brown.

    Chocolate is a brilliant shout to a prototype of Ray Robinson. I really see the similarities.

    :lol::lol:

    One thing I noticed is they both use the jab to set traps for power punches brilliantly. And the lateral movement is eerily similar.

    I refuse to dabble in this modern day witchcraft called "revisionism"..and still maintain that SRR's style was the essence of catlike grace and poetry and at the same time, the red meat substance of raw savagery when it was necessary.

    very poetic:good. ive heard (or rather seen) john garfeild call him a 'silk stone killer' what an accurate way to describe robinson, great phrase.

    The greatest combination of raw handspeed,punching power of a killer,and ego to be supreme was Ray Robinson...To see him ringside in his
    prime was a revelation...Never to be forgotten...I was fortunate....
