Headlining a Top Rank show on 1/29 at the Hard Rock in Tulsa, OK.

It ought to in a fair world be a battle of unbeaten prospects - or rather, a WBC super featherweight title contest - but the Brazilian was horribly robbed versus Óscar Rafael Valdez Fierro, Jr. last 9/11 (my card was 117-110 Conceição). The young Nicaraguan-Guatemalan-Mexican-Sacramentan has kept his zero intact despite moderate steps up in class the last couple of years, albeit nobody quite on Valdez's tier. His last opponent was, as Conceição is now, 33 years of age - but then "MiniBurgos" had a lot more tread on his tires when Martínez pecked out his dominant UD victory.

Identical reach, but Robson has a 2½″ height advantage over Xavier.

Conceição win this. I expect him to come back with a chip on his shoulder after his title fight let down.

While never blown away, I had moderate hopes for Xavier, but the Marrero and Burgos matches revealed his true level. I doubt Conceicao will have much of an issue boxing his ears off.
