It goes far deeper than this but a nice start nonetheless. Many of us would prefer to keep our accounts so only peripheral issues get addressed while the root of the problem ramains censored and taboo.

The only purpose of Ward making an "offer" to Golovkin and now "negotiating" with Kovalev, is publicity. He doesn't want to fight any of them.

Everyone knows that GG never intended or wanted to fight Ward.

    Yeah, that makes perfect sense.
Ward signed a multi-year multi-million dollar contract because he doesn't want to fight.
    Brilliant!
Why didn't I think of that?

Well if its still going to be on the November 21st undercard that leaves little time for the TBA to prepare. And Andre Ward has been training for months. I know a girl who works at the Olive Garden in Hayward and she saw Ward's sweat soaked body stuffing his face yesterday.

Ward turned down Stevenson within a few seconds live on HBO, at 168 or at 175................Why should Golovkin waste his time on a fight for nothing in Ward's home town, with Ward's personal referee, judges and boxing commission when he can unify the titles at 160, his natural weight? Let Ward fight Stevenson, Kovalev, Beterbiev, etc., or Ward can get Ricardo Lopez to come out of retirement. As far as I am concerned, Ward is retired.........................let Ward work for a title fight.......................earn one............................quit fighting bums...............if and whenever he fights..................

WARD doesn't want to think about Kovalev. Or Stevenson. Or Beterbiev. Those are shark-infested waters :hey

Ward cant even make 168  he doesnt fight anyone for ages, gets stripped of his belts and expects to drag a middleweight up in weight

Golovkin is focusing on unifying his division (something Ward never truely did missing out on the IBF/WBO belts) and also missed out on facing Dawson for his belt at 175 instead choosing to drag him down in weight where he wasnt the same fighter.

Let GGG move up in weight first, then discuss Ward/GGG. Ward in the meantime should fight someone with a pulse up at 175 . . . . then again Stevenson/Kovalev are the only belt holders and Ward aint willing to travel

I don't understand why both sides are going back and forth about this. I don't think it's doing a good job trying to hype up this potential bout for the future.

At this point, it's just conjecture from both sides. Hopefully this fight can materialize within the next year if Gennady can't secure a match with another top MW. I think Ward is the only guy from 168 and down that can push GGG to the limit.

I'm not defending Ward at all (truthfully I just don't really care that much about him as a fighter or person,) but if I remember correctly after his win against Dawson, he was battling both injuries (I think he had a surgery) and also a very long, drawn out litigation battle with his old promoter.

I think what caused such an incredible delay with him being released from Goosen promotions is that Dan Goosen passed away abruptly during the middle of the lawsuit and that actually extended the process a good deal.

Anyway, at this juncture Ward is devoid of any injuries or legal issues, so I'd expect him to fight a minimum of twice a year from now on. I don't mind him having a couple "tune up" fights to shake the rust off what's been a couple years of inactivity, but by next year he should only be facing top level talent, whether at 168 or 175. If not, than I'll probably be just as critical as some others are here about him.

And on a side note, Ward didn't drag down Dawson to 168 lbs. Dawson ELECTED to fight him at that weight, where his LHW titles wouldn't be on the line. I think the gameplan was that if Dawson beat him, they'd have a rematch at 175 lbs.

Whose fault was it for the very long, drawn out litigation battle ? Didn't Ward start it against the man who made him a star, who provided him all possible advantages in the super-six tournament ? The Son of Grudge thinks that he is worth more than he really is which is the root of his problems.
