To sum it all up it was purely an attempt to get Ward's name mentioned. Ward hasn't fought a top twenty ranked fighter is 4 years. He needs to EARN a chance at GGG He hasn't yet

 

He already unified and became an ATG in the 168 pounds division against the hardest punchers in his generation in Froch, Kessler and Abraham without really doing much.

He's already been in this level before, the man hasn't lost a match since he was 11 years old, he was born a winner.

Duva and RocNation are very interested in the Ward-Kovalev match up, that's the fight to make in boxing right now which is why Ward has a 3 fight contract at 175.
