what do u guys think about rock climbing will that have any possitive effects or will it be negative because im thinking about including it in a plan only if its a possitive thing
You mean boxing performance? I can't see it affecting that at all. Your upper body will get stronger and you'll have a ****ing strong grip after a while but that's about it.
thats cool then im gunna include a big of that in my run tomorrow then..i just better hope i dont fall off haha
It will be good for your core strength, flexibility, grip and forearm strength. Sounds like a fun activity as well.
I've been rock climbing since I was very very small, about 4. Rock, ice, mountaineering, sport and trad. My dad is very good at it, and used to take me all the time. As far as boxing benefits, your grip strength will improve alot, which will translate a little bit into power as you can make a tighter fist. You will benefit a little in terms of coordination and weight distribution. Mostly, it is a really fun way to work all the pullup muscles, and will get you stronger shoulders, back and a little biceps, which are all important upper body muscles for boxing. Also, climbing will encourage you to be lighter (strength to weight) and get to a better weight class. If you choose to climb outdoors, you will also have to do some pretty serious approach hikes with a pack, which is beneficial to your endurance. However it certainly isn't the most efficient way to improve your fitness. If you enjoy it it's a really fun hobby and will get you out and enjoying nature, but it is also expensive and time consuming. If you really love it, go for it! Sure won't hurt you.
