'The Brockton Blockbuster' Rocky Marciano vs 'Iron' Mike Tyson, this is a classic legend vs legend match up that has been debated for years and will continue to be debated for many decades to come...the toughest and most durable heavyweight to every step foot in the ring against the most vicious and explosive fighter of the modern era...who would win? how? why?... you decide! :bbb

You are kidding aren't you.. Would be nice if we could create a DNA reconstruction of those two in their prime.. I know this has been beat to death..and will continue to be debated long after we are gone.. Who do you think would win and why... ? :happy Come on, let's beat it some more.

Marciano is my pick.. Here's why.. I think he is more durable and would withstand Tyson early onslaughts... I see the rock going down early.. Getting back up. and frustrating Tyson with his rock chin.. and continuous barrages of clubbing rights and lefts against the ropes.. Marciano forces Tyson to punch down, something he is not accustom to.. He is finding Marciano harder to hit then earlier in the fight... By the 12th found, Tyson, in total frustration and exhaustion, with both his forearms busted up, bites Marciano's lower ear off in a clinch, and spits it out on the canvass .... Marciano goes berserk and unloads a fuselage of the most thunderous punches ever seen. Tyson slowly sinks to the canvass, but his arm is hooked on the corner turnbuckle. Marciano, in a rage, continues to club the unconscious Tyson with 10 more clubbing blows.. the most devastating knockout history has ever witnessed.. The referee could have counted to a thousand.. Tyson has to be carried off on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance. Tyson remained in a coma till the next morning, were he later died of massive brain damage.. And that was just the rehearsal...:patsch

Dude your relishing & reveling in permanent damage & death seems pathological.

Tyson in the first 3-5 rounds.

No doubt a certain poster will come along and insist that Marciano would beat Tyson on heart alone......Nonsense.

The two boxer trade punch every round, rock & iron going toe to toe every round until round 8. Round 8 are the last round they trade punch because this round rocky will win by KO.
Round 8 tyson get caught by rocky BOOMBS in jaw & this boombs is enought power to send tyson in canvas.

Didn't Rocky fight with smaller gloves than Tyson?
Depends what era's rules they're fighting under as to exactly how the fight goes.

For me, Tyson (on his day) is simply too quick. Punches Rocky in the face more than he get's punched in the face. That only needs to happen for a few rounds and t'old Rock is hospitalised.

Best chance Rocky has is to simply scuff, semi-cheat and rough-up/frustrate Tyson on the inside for the first half of the fight. Tire Mike out and get him to become ragged due to fatigue/rage. Then start trading and hope his superior chin wins the day.

An interesting fight since it's the classic 'immovable object V unstoppable force', tactics would play a big part and you could get 10 different fights from the same men.

I thought this debate had been decided? A fighter cannot be made favourite to beat another fighter, if that fighter is completely unlike any fighter he has ever fought. Unless the fighter is Ali.

Faster and bigger is a hellish combination to overcome. I don't know if it'll be early, but I suspect that Tyson will get enough damage done early one way or the other.

Marciano never faced anyone like a prime Tyson in his entire career. He would think he had been hit by a train.............

Tyson by early KO, and a clean one at that.

    Tyson early and brutal.
This is a mismatch in my book.

Any time Tyson fought someone close to his size or smaller, he normally took care of them in one round.

Spinks, Frazier, Seldon, Mcneely, Etienne, Stewart.

Marciano wouldn't last more than a couple days as a Tyson sparring partner let alone last more than a round or 2 in a actual bout.

Horrible mismatch for the Rock. Tyson by early KO.
