Sorry for the tragic and graphic ending to my scenario ... I guess I did get a little morbid..atsch But, it's a morbid business and regrettably it does happen.. But besides that, what do you think would win..and why?
This content is protected For the Tyson fight, Rocky goes into a special training regiment and diet designed to add 10 to 12 lbs. of muscle, coming in between 198 - 205. Running 10 to 15 miles a day with the 1 hour workouts on a 300lbs heavy bag, and 1 hour on the mini speed bag the Rock actually gains speed and punching power.. Even goes to his uncle's chicken farm and chased and caught chickens. Ran up and down hills, forward and backwards, chopped wood for hours... When he steps in the Ring with Iron Mike, Marciano actually looks as big and as muscular as Mike. He has a grim determined look on his face.. Nobody has ever seen a Rocky like this before...He didn't just prepare for a fight, he prepared for Iron Mike.. In this fight, the Rock brings mind boggling endurance, stamina, strength, durability and heart at a level Tyson has never seen before and he cannot withstand it. Brutal KO by the Rock.
Yeah. He could definitely gain size, speed and punching power all at the same time then actually kill Mike Tyson in the ring. We haven't entered the realms of pure fantasy there at all, not quite. Then I suppose, fantasy fight...
So, you have felt the need to fictionalize Rocky and create a fantasy version in order to compete with a very real version of Tyson. I think that speaks volumes.
Well, it's not because I felt a need, we are talking about a fantasy fight.. why wouldn't Marciano have prepared for Tyson like I imagined? He would've had to up his game to beat Tyson.. I admit that.. Everyone seems to get hung up on the old clips and Rocky's size and weight..and the age of his opponents.. Why not think outside the box? Volumes are what these posts are about.. not snips or one liners.. And it's okay to disagree isn't it? But on the other hand, if you awaken your imagination, please.. share just a smidgen of the volumes of which you speak.. None of our opinions can be settled with certainty anyway... It's all open for debate... And the question I posed is.. Do you think the Rock would have prepared for Tyson like he did for all his other opponents, who admittedly, were no where near the challenge Tyson represented.. ? And he would've know this going in.. I think not.. I think he would have turned himself into a monster.. And the Rock, upping his game to the degree I fantasized, is scary.. and, a very real possibility...
Ha ha ha, pretty nice stuff here....Rocky with Dr.Jekyl in the ****ing corner dishing out the monster juice. Sheeeezzzarssseee son!:rasta
Im sorry but Tyson steamrolls anybody under 200 lbs. He was too big, too fast, too skillfull, too tough. Look what it took Lennox to KO a shot Tyson for ****'s sake, and 185 Marciano is gonna do it? Marciano at 220 different story, maybe. Thats just how good Tyson was. Walcott was the first to floor him right? What do you think Mike is gonna do? All due respect to Marciano who I have nothing but admiration for. I have to see more of Marcianos fights. Tyson KO 1.
A fantasy fight should still be within the realms of plausibility. If Marciano can magically become significantly bigger, stronger, quicker, tougher and harder hitting, then Tyson's handlers should be allowed to travel to the future where they can use advanced technology to create an indestructible Tyson cyborg, who can then be sent back to 1955 to take out Rocky....
This is the way my mind is leaning on this. It is not the mismatch that many assume, but we have been asked for a prediction.
HaaaaaaaaaaaaHA... I like your colorful speech... Marciano, would have to come in at 205... and he could have done it.. And naturally.. no PEDs.. He was already as strong as an ox... The extra weight would've only made him stronger.. the Rock could take punishment better than Tyson, he either didn't get up, or the ref stopped it. Marciano didn't care where he hit you.. arms, shoulders, buttocks... He busted Roland Lastarza arms ... Tyson arms are flesh and blood too.. Yes, Rocky would had to gained weight without losing speed and endurance. Proper training and diet could do it back then.. The only thing he didn't have to increase was his heart.. He felt no pain.. got knocked down, got backup.. And don't anyone tell you Jersey Joe Walcott couldn't flatten any heavyweight in history when he sat down on his punches.. Just look at his left hook on Ezzard Charles... The Rock, like all fighters have a button, and if hit hard enough would go down.. Archie Moore hit like a mule too, one the highest KO percentages in history.. And the Rock was no more than a light heavyweight when he fought either one of them.. Soooooooooootheeerrrrrrrryeeeeeeeeeeeegoooooooooooooo! :good
Rocky had the endurance, chin, and fortitude to make it interesting for awhile but I think Tyson would stop him before 10 rounds on cuts, or excessive bleeding, either way its hard to vision Rocky making it to the final bell..
Very plausible assessment..nothing to disagree with there... at least you gave your opinion and why? My only counter point is that Tyson didn't get stronger as the fight went on...the Rock did.. And he has been known to finish fights with his nose almost hanging off. And remember, I'm not talking about the films of Rocky we all have him frozen in. But a Rocky who knew he had to gain weight, muscle, and speed... and knew he would have to train for Tyson accordingly. Some say I'm building a mystic fantasy Marciano.. Not really, he could have trained to achieve my imaginary Rocky.. Which would trump any of his historical performances seen on film... It may be presumptuous on my part to think his handler's, and the Rock himself, were smart enough to figure that out, and prepare for the biggest challenge of his life.. And since this is a fantasy fight anyway... why not fantasize him stepping up in weight to physically be closer on par with his opponent? Patterson did this for his rematch with Ingemar Johansson, adding several more pounds of muscle, including almost 2 inches on his neck.. Rocky had the physical attributes and dedication to achieve this makeover too. Marciano just never had to do it in his career.. Why would he not for Tyson..?
I agree Tyson didn't get stronger as the fight went on, BUT one could see him doing a lot of damage to Rock in the early rounds, but his huge heart would keep him in the fight, Marciano did have superior stamina to Tyson that's a forgone conclusion.. I have seen that fight with Walcott with the Rocks nose split in half like someone took a meat cleaver to it, but also keep in mind back in the 1940's 50's and 60s, and even the 70's they let guy's fight to the end and sometimes didn't stop it until the loser was half dead, these day's a guy get's wobbled and the ref will stop it:-( Yea maybe the Rock could have bulked up, but he would sacrifice speed, and Tyson had a huge speed advantage here and that would be the deciding factor in this fight.. Bottom line Tyson was the bigger, bulkier, man with an advantage in head upper body movement, body mass, weight and much faster hands, eventually those hard combinations in my opinion would after about 6 or 7 rounds make the Rocks grill look like it went thru a meat grinder, leading to a certain stoppage.. Bad night for the Rock:verysad
