Marciano versus the versions of :
    Fitzsimmons
    Corbett
    Sharkey
    Finnegan
    Munroe
    Ruhlin
That Jeffries defended against. Lets say 20rds.
    Well?

I'd say Rocky finishes them all with Corbett and Fitz being the toughest opponents. Ruhlin, Munroe, and Finnegan get KO'd early. I think Sharkey would too his style sounds like its perfect for Rocky. Corbett puts up a good fight but gets wore down somewhere between 12-15. Fitzsimmons could be interesting based on sources he could be a harder hitter than Walcott or Moore. If they could hurt Rock, Fitz could do better I guess but, I think he's still just too small and older and would eat too many of Rocky's own bombs to be stopped probably around 8-10 rounds.

These are all tough fights, especially the Corbett and Fitz fights, even in their condition at the time.

But Rocky? Rocky Marciano? Arguably the worst matchup for someone with Corbetts style? A brutal puncher who could go toe to toe with Fitz and then some? I don't see Rocky losing to any of these men. They will put up a fight, some better than others, but their demise would be inevitable.

Marciano would actually be the more skilled in a fight with Sharkey, plus he would be the bigger man.

Corbett was bashed around by Sharkey you have to figure the more polished Marciano could do the same, imo.

I would predict that if Rocky did beat Fitz, that Rocky would be cut up mightily bad, like Fitz did to Jefferies.

I like Marciano to sweep. I think it very dubious to claim that Sharkey was a bigger puncher than Moore, for example.

Fitz impresses me as by far the most dangerous--and by the way, also the oldest by far.

Corbett. I agree that he is unlikely to keep Marciano off if he couldn't keep Sharkey off.

My take is that boxing improved a great deal in those fifty years.

It depends on many factors. Marciano likely lost his first fight to LaStarza, and might have lost to Ted Lowry.

If Marciano fought the same men with the same experience Jeffries had when he fought them, he's going to lose a few.

If we are talking about Marciano at his best as champion, and he fought Fitz 2x, Corbett 2x and Sharkey 2x, he's losing at least once, maybe twice. This would not be bad. 5-1 or 4-2 here would still be great.

Corbett had less fights than Jeffries.Only one Sharkey fight qualifies here ,only one Fitzsimmons fight qualifies here! The title defences by Jeffries.

fitz on cuts is the most likely loss, but i pick him to beat them all.
