+ one thing people don't talk much about was Creed had lost his "desire" to fight by the time Rocky came along. Basically what I am saying is, Apollo was "Shot".

That's almost as glorious as beating Barrett, Ruiz, Valuev and (maybe) A-Force.

Apollo was in his prime in the first fight. IF he was shot in the second it was due to the overwhelming internal damage done by Rocky in the first fight.

Drago was Prime, maybe a bit green...coulda won by decision had he stayed away and used his long telephone pole jab instead of slugging it out but the political pressure to "destroy the weak american" He would have been in the heavyweight division earlier but the 'Red' tape prevented it that's why it was an exhibition. Just like today American's can't stand the thought of an eastern European Champ... :hi:

Lang was still motivated in the rematch Rocky simply added actually boxing skill to his iron chin and freakish strength.

Rocky was the Greatest of all time.

He came out of retirement in his 50's and went the distance with Mason Dixon.

    G.O.A.T!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Don't discount his better than expected showing vs. Mason "The Line" Dixon, Rocky was 62 years old!! And if you watch the alternate ending of the special edition DVD, he actually won the fight!

    Definitely the G.O.A.T.

Balboa had a nice career, but he's got nothing on Little Mac. Sure he got bums like Glass Joe and Von Kaiser and that Spanish '**** that danced with a rose, but the Sandman, Macho Man, and Tyson are no joke.

The count against Drago was too quick. Also, I believe that the fight should have stopped earlier because Drago clearly knocked Rocky down three times in one round. The rules were ignored in Rocky's favor. Paulie clearly paid off the Russian ref.

Who the f uck are you some sort of new breed Creed nuthugger!

Name any fighter that can come out of retirement at 62 and put on a performance of a life time against the then Heavyweight champion, Defeat a Murderer, A Giant Wrestler, And one of the slickest/fastest heaveyweights of all time.

    G.O.A.T

Creed and Lang were great wins, but The Drago fight was an exhibition and the Gunn fight was just a street fight that did not count either.

Great thread. Clearly Rocko is top 10, but you have to factor in his losses. Also, Creed clearly wasn't prime when he lost to Rocko. Had he taken out The Line he might be higher on my list, but as things stand, here's my top 5 all-time:

    1. SNV
    2. Appollo Creed
    3. Rocky Balboa
    4. Chick from Million Dollar Baby (Cut down in her prime)
    5. Terry Malloy (Mafia ****ed him)

Honorable mention - Rubin Carter (Movie Version)
