Sykes shoves Flannigan back as Ian John Lewis spreads them for a clean break. Sykes carries a high jab in, too wide, getting caught by a counter left ont he way in. Flannigan is peeling Sykes' arms off on the inside and waiting for the referee to get them split rather than opening up. Sykes falls in with a right hand, clinch. Another push-apart by IJL. Sykes falls in again, doesn't land, caught and held. Again. Looping left by Flannigan, the inner part of his elbow crashing into Sykes' eyebrow. Sidewinding hooks by Sykes, not even taking aim, just bashing away under Flannigan's arms and up top. Another clinch. Very ugly round and hanging in the balance with half a minute left. Sykes falls in and smothers Flannigan against the ropes. Slaps to the body by Sykes.
