First id like to state that i love both of these fighters

Jackson has freakish, freakish power, moreso than Graziano, who already has 1 punch knockout power

Graziano would have to be favored for 2 reasons, for one his best win at MW (Zale) is better than anyone Jackson beat, and two, Graziano is simply tougher and stronger. This would be a 2 sided slugfest where both fighters hit the deck but Graziano would be standing in the end.

Jackson would lay Graziano out. Graziano is one of the most overrated fighters in history. Beating an ancient Zale in one of three fights (in which he was losing) isnt, in my opinion, a better win than Jacksons KO of Graham. That Graham was certainly better than the Zale Graziano beat. Graham was bigger, a much more difficult opponent, and had only lost twice, two nip and tuck fights to terrific fighters: Kalambay and McCallum.

I have a feeling that Jackson would be caught in the first couple of rounds and wobbled badly by Rock. But he'd strike back and drop his man minutes later.
    Jackson by 3 round ko.

This forum has a raging over-hatred for Rocky Graziano

The reason for this is still unexplainable. Graziano wasn't just a great fighter but a good man. A simple man much like his fighting style, move forward and take what you want

Zale was very near his prime when Graziano beat him. A simple look at his results post service show this. Graziano was beating him up til the stoppage in the first fight and 3rd fight. Zale was winning the 2nd fight but Graziano showed he had the heart of a champion by rallying to stop him

Not only that but Graziano was doing phenomenal against Robinson up til the stoppage (and that was a past prime 33y/o Graziano), and he beat other quality fighters like Marty Servo and Bummy Davis, and Graziano was naturally moreso a 154-er

While I agree this forum for the most part hates Graziano ( I dont..his book was great BTW) Zale was absolutely past his prime having lost his best yrs to the Navy. No way in hell you can tell me differently.

The reason this forum doesnt rate Graziano highly is because most of the people on here realize he beat exactly one rated middleweight in his entire career: Zale who was near 40 years old. Thats why he comes up short when mythically matched with other fighters his size or bigger. notice how whenever he fought guys who were anywhere near his size and in their prime he lost or struggled. That doesnt bode well for him. Pretending Zale was in his prime is ridiculous. Especially when you base that on his record at the time. He fought exactly two noteworthy names after ww2: Graziano whose entire reputation was built on his trilogy with near 40 year old Zale and Cerdan who beat him from pillar to post. Where is the evidence that Zale was prime based on his performances post ww2?

He was 33 in his first fight with Graziano and 34 in the second, that's not near 40

You already saw and dismissed it. Zale wasn't exactly an always winning fighter pre service. Cerdan was a good fighter and Zale was well past it by then. Zale looks impressive in his fights with Graziano, this is common sense

Jackson was far too fast in his delivery. He would catch the wide open Graziano long before Rocky would get any groove going.

    And Jackson isn't a welterweight.

    This is a complete mismatch.

    Jackson would annihilate Graziano.

Rocky wasn't a great fighter. He was an entertaining fighter.

Zale was not very near his prime. Like so many others in boxing and other sports, he had been inactive for four years serving overseas. This was not the Zale that beat Hostak and Soose.

And no one with eyeballs thinks that Graziano was doing phenomenal against Robinson. He was getting stalked and softened for an end that ever observer knew was inevitable.
