Now that would have been a great fight, wouldn´t it? I think I pick Cerdan but Graziano obviously is in with a good chance. I think 154 would be the best weight for this match-up.
Cerdan for me as well. He'd work too hard over the haul, and has pure quality in the unleashing of his fists. Rocky would be right there reminding him who he is though.
Cerdan picks Graziano apart, although Rocky's right hand could introduce Marcel to the canvas if it lands. Let's not forget that Cerdan was nearly KO'd by Anton Raadik.
Cerdan from the Zale fight peppers Graziano's face, while moving out of the way the strong, but slow punches. From what I have seen a Cerdan, he seem pretty cagey and not likely to get touched by a dumb wild right hand. He may be hit, but not touched.
I saw Rocky Graziano fight numerous times, pre Zale. And I saw Marcel Cerdan fight tough Georgie Abrams ,Dec.6,1946... I feel that based on a common opponent , Harold Green who Cerdan demolished in 2 rds while Rocky ,lost 2 out of three to Green, Cerdan would most likely stop Graziano. Rocky had no defense to ward off the two handed attack from Cerdan, while Marcel had a crab-like defense, which would be able to avoid Rocky's right hand grenades... Cerdan by late stoppage...
I like Cerdan by late stoppage as well. Rocky's presence would be felt, but Marcel just had a little too much toughness for Graz to overcome.
i don't think graziano is in cerdans league at welter, light middle or middle.cerdan has too much class and wouldn't buckle under rocky's bombs either
