Rocky Lockridge vs Pedrosa 1

Just one thing here guys, for all the controversy with Laporte, Taylor and Lockridge i cannot remember one magazine scoring against Pedroza. I could be wrong, but i distinctly remember quite a few stories having hin ahead in very close fights. He was hated so much people really wanted to see him hammered.

 

Would be great if you could dig up some of those sources at some point.

I find it pretty hard to believe that no one had Pedroza losing some of those fights, given their close nature. (Not doubting your word JT, just saying in general, that it would be a surprise if no one had Pedroza losing any of those fights.)

 

If Lockridge can take Hamed's punch I am pretty certain that he will overwhelm him in a 15 rounder. Rocky will win through consistent pressure and workrate.

Not sure Hamed does hit harder than Chavez with one punch, most likely he does in a p4p sense, but Rocky had no problem with some pretty big hitters and with only one blemish (Laporte) to his name when it comes to taking big shots, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt in a series to do Hamed in.

 

What happened in the LaPorte fight? He took some heavy punishment in his fights with some devastating hitters, yet he never got stopped except for this fight, which I find a little odd.

 

He got caught flush on the chin with a straight right hand amidst an exchange and that's all she wrote. Just the perfect shot.

Rocky was generally great at sucking up punishment and firing back, but this was just a short sharp shot and it was lights out.
