Marciano was a two-fisted power puncher and bit more clever than Frazier. Sometimes he could be dirty

Resting on the ropes as he did vs. Foreman, or doing very little and coming on late as he did with Lyle is a way to lose.

Concur. Both fighters respected each other as fighters. After the Computer sparring sessions, The Rock said Ali was "very fast", and Ali said Mariciano hit "very hard". Appears both understood what each other had in their tool boxes.

Ali himself said on multiple occasions that Marciano would have been his toughest matchup of all fighters before and during his time.

No version of Marciano beat Ali before 1975. Talk about the biggest myth in boxing history....Marcianos name is right by it. And Mayweather jr also.

What is the myth of Marciano? What didn't he prove in his own time? He certainly proved he could beat a washed-up 213 pound heavyweight great.

Ali stops Marciano late or wins a clear albeit competitive decision. Muhammad's skills and larger weight are the main influences here. Ali's strength was used more as a weapon post exile.

Ali learns early on in the bout that the rope-a-dope does n't get him anywhere with Rocky.

So, Rudi Lubbers goes the distance with Ali but Marciano gets stopped.

    Okey-doke.

What we saw in Ali in 1974 was the rope a dope against Foreman who tired very quickly and a battle with Frazier.

Marciano had better stamina than both of those fighters and hit harder than Frazier. If you think Frazier ****ed Ali up in 71' just imagine what Marciano would to to him in 74'.
