Boxing is a lot different than it was 60 years ago. Even today it's a touchy subject when it comes to hits on the back of the head and hitting a downed oppenent. Alot can happen in heat of a fight, often sheer muscle memory takes over while throwing a combination. There were instances in the Cockell fight when Cockell turned his back to Marciano to escape the pounding, a fighter doing that is asking for bad news. I doubt Marciano felt his title was in jeopardy enough to resort to intentionally fouling.
Yo arran,so is Ricardo Lopez next up..."Know one can retire undefeated like your boyfriend Joe C???" 49-0 :hi::yep
That's what's my 2year old son gonna say about our era. They used PED back then, they didn't want Random Blood testing.Until Floyd Mayweather ask for blood testing up until fight nite to fight Pac. So now in 2031 we have Random Blood testing up until fight nite. :good
Why do you say that? Is that because the posters at Classic would have a field day with the original post, or because you don't feel that the posters who frequent General have enough knowledge to discuss a topic that's, y'know, boxing related...?
Actually it is Calzaghe who should ahve a loss on his record, that much is crystal clear. :good http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=282080
I got Barrera's carreer, and in one of his fights down in Mexico where he was being troubled a bit early, the bell rings to end the round, the other guy turns around and starts walking to his corner, Barrera lands a vicious shot to the base of the guys skull, the guy falls down, out cold, and can't continue. WAY after the bell, with his back turned, to the back of the head. Its called a KO victory for Barrera! WTF?
