This is kinda lame... we keep tyson at his same weight based on the performance enhancements on the 80's.. yet we don't give Rock the same variables and keep him a the same weight? Ummm okay. Anyways, I see Rocky winning regardless but struggling to do so more then Tyson did. If you let Rocky at least get up to 200 or 205... He blows out the competition much easier and close to how Tyson did. Tyrson does well, but IMO losses to Walcott but beats everybody else.

Ezzard Charles would also be a tall order for Tyson.

Marciano would have less trouble with the Bonecrusher,as Rocky was a better infighter than Tyson, and he'd bust Smith's ribs up.

    better infighter than Tyson ?
    damn
Tysons right uppercut to the body+right upper in the face+left hook is the best what im, see in the heaweight boxing
rocky win fights with his heart stamina and chin and pover, not with his skills

How do you see Rock doing against Tucker and Ruddock? I see him struggling mightily against these 2...even if he bulked up to 200 lbs and was given the benefit of modern nutrition etc. Marciano would age considerably faster in Tyson's era due to the amount of punishment he'd have to endure to offset the height/reach situation he'd face against the top contenders. Rocky also most likely wouldn't go to jail so he'd probably end up fighting Holyfield(and possibly Bowe:ko) before he retired in '93 or '94. I honestly see him having success against Holyfield but Bowe would kill him.

I'm not sure how many of you are aware but Tyson and Marciano were pretty much the same height. So that argument is out the window, and while they might not be the same weight it's really just an issue of era. Tyson would have been much slimmer in Marcianos is era and Marciano would have been bigger in Tysons era it's just a fact so stop with the godamn size arguments.

Yes, they were the same height but Tyson was a much, MUCH better overall athlete than Rocky so the size issue must be mentioned if we're objectively trying to find out who would do better in the other's era. Marciano's lack of height/reach and athletic ability would force him to take far too much punishment to get on the inside and do what he does best. Remember that he struggled mightily with a 50 year old Joe Louis' jab before The Bomber got tired. As many others have mentioned, he would have considerable success against top contenders who weren't comfortable infighting(Morrison, Smith, Tillis, Tubbs, maybe Bruno) but, his plodding footwork and physical limitations would spell doom for him against the likes of Tucker, Ruddock and Bowe...not to mention Holyfield, Mercer, a green Lewis and possibly even a young Pinklon Thomas.

Marciano would have the benefits of modern nutrition being born to an era of enhancements I think he would rise to the top and be able to beat most in the Tyson Era, the Best men Rudduck,Lewis where Ko'd by lesser punchers and I think Marciano would be all wrong for Evander and Bowe got hit too much to be hit by Marciano and last. Tyson should work his way to the top but lose to Walcott or Charles IMO, Mike fought in the 200 - division in the amateurs and would not have access to the enhancers in the 1950's. I think Tyson is a danger and a force in any era but his weaknesses, not being able to come form behind or get off the floor to win would be imposing against the proven experience of the 50's
