You think Marciano was a," scientific hit and not get hit," fighter? Marciano never fought a class heavyweight over 200lbs who was anywhere near his prime, in fact he only ever met one of any class at that weight ,and that was an ancient .Joe Louis. How many big punchers over 200lbs of any class did Marciano ever meet?

You want proof from him? What proof have you supplied to confirm your choice? Lewis was ko'd twice and stopped them both in rematches. He was never knocked down by a 38years old196lbs man, or a 38/41 years old 188lbs man!

Though I seem to recall Marciano bouncing up in no time wheras Lewis was left out cold

Also Walcott hits harder than McCall

Marciano took counts in both his kd's also he admitted he was dazed against Moore and blacked out for a couple of seconds.
Lewis was on his feet when the McCall fight was stopped and both the McCall right and the Rahman right would have floored Marciano.

    QUOTH THE ROCK:

"Rocky himself insisted 'I wasn't hurt at all. Not even dazed. It sure was nice to discover I could get up with vision clear.' - which he did at the count of 3 apparently cursing himself quietly. The second occurred in a sensational 2nd round of what would be the last of his 49 wins against The Ol Mongoose Archie Moore of which Rocky revealed immediately postfight 'I couldn't understand why Archie didn't come at me then? I wasn't groggy, but I WAS dazed, and I couldn't see out of my left eye for a while. But I WAS ready for him.'"

Marciano got up at the count of 3 against Walcott completely unfazed and continued to take Walcott's clean shots for 13 rounds whilst always pressing forward and never becoming discouraged or backing up. Marciano was up at the count of 2 against Moore when he was caught by a clean shot and off balance. Lets be honest, that shot wouldve taken out many lesser fighters. Marciano then proceeded to become even stronger and take clean counters from Moore without flinching for the rest of the fight. Watch round 6. What Marciano does there isnt even human.

How Marciano's chin has become doubted through the years of revisionism over 2 knockdowns is ridiculous. People like Holyfield and Mercer were stopped and dropped by lesser fighters than whom Marciano fought and yet are regarded to have chins of granite.

Louis was way past his best when he fought Marciano only a fool would try and deny it.
    Lewis fought the following punchers;
    Mason
    Bruno
    Butler
    Morrison
    Mercer
    Ruddock
    Weaver
    Tyson
    Marciano fought which punchers?
Marciano's chin is not proven against big punching200lbs+ heavyweights of class because he never fought any!

Obvious to people who actually watch boxing; sacrilege to those who only read it.

I have a first hand interview with Peter Wilson in which he says he was dazed and blacked out for a couple of seconds,Watch the fight and you can see he gets up and walks towards the ropes expecting a standing count! And don't say he doesn't because I have him saying that too!

I've watched the fight, I know he walked to the ropes. I guess that's what happens when you aren't used to being knocked down because you have a granite chin.

Seems conflicting. I personally buy my source moreso. Seems near impossible to blackout then be up and walking fine after 2 seconds

At LHW. McCall weighs about 35lbs more. With a fast snappy punch like the one that KOed Lewis that seriously makes a difference

A granite chin ? When was it tested against a big banger 200lbs + banger? I have primary sourced quotes from interviews but if you dismiss them out of hand why would I bother to type them out? More to the point why would I bother continuing this?

Who gives a ****. The big 200+lbs bangers of his gen weren't as good as the smaller men. Perhaps you should reconsider than size is the end all be all of power. Walcott and Moore hit harder than most 200+ lbs men. Hell Layne was a puncher himself.

I'd rather take a punch from Valuev than Dempsey

Thoroughly unreasoned response ignoring the fact that Moore fought 186 times to get 132 KO's. AND... he fought about 80 fights under 170 pounds against opponents who were likewise. So, how does this compare to Lewis or any other truly great postmodern heavy?

Marciano fought the bulk of his career as a circuit fighter against middling opponents who inhabited those ranks. And again, how does this compare to a Lennox Lewis who was fighting guys like Chanet, Mason, Ocasio and Weaver in his first 15 fights. And it was all uphill from there. Not exactly apples to apples in that comparison.
