Has to do with their past. Polynesians and Melanesians come from a long line of warriors and navigators sailing from islands to islands on treacherous journeys. Just like the Nordic decsendants of the Viking, their past environment greatly affected their present genetic make up. A very active lifestyle and a healthy plant and sea based diet allowed strong men and women to be forged. Moreover due to the dangers of travelling, the sea and war, only the strongest survived so naturally these genes were handed down from generation to generation to what we have today.

I get people on here picking up on stuff that I actually back up with actual factual evidence and we get at least two posters here endorsing “Polynesian bigger bones” based on descendants navigating treacherous seas?

This is absolutely laughable! Very active lifestyle on paradise islands? The strongest survived on the healthy diet of a sun kissed islands? White sand and plenty to eat..

As usual I shall produce actual evidence. Kitone Lave. A really good punching Polynesian heavyweight who benefited from all the same genetics as David Tua who came along before the steroid era. Kitone knocked out guys better than Nino Valdes ever did but never got the breaks.

And what did the even taller Kitione Lave weigh before the steroid era? At 6 feet tall Lave was 197-205 pounds with a taller frame than David Tua. And that because that was all that was achievable under 1950s methods.

Me too. My mind is blown with that fairytale nonsense.

Navigating treacherous seas, buiding superhuman bones... lol skin made from coconut shell. Bones make from rock. Half man half buffalo island folk. Apparently the women are so aggressive... so on and so forth. It’s right up there with big foot.

For folks new to this forum we have the Loch Ness monster and then there is David Tuas natural weight...

Regardless of whether Suzie is right or wrong, I have a ridiculously big group Fijians that come to my shop to buy rugby gear regularly. It can't simply be down to coincidence that they are all built like brick sheethouses.

They’re strong folk that’s for sure. But the BMI chart is meant for them too. There’s no separate Polynesian graph to factor in is there?

I'm overweight by the BMI. My doc has said multiple times... "That chart wasn't made for you.".

My drug dealer tells me the same thing. I'm way under weight though.

Would David Tua be bigger than his taller kinsman Kitione Lave was in the 1950s?

There’s nothing rigid about my stance on BMI charts, I already said athletes can be higher because of extra muscle. Some extra muscle.

Tua was 225lbs at 23 years old Lave never weighed that in his entire career, hence you have your answer.ps Some of the members of the Island groups are bigger than others.eg Jimmy Thunder.

To accept your hare-brained theory we would have to conclude that Marciano could be a ranked heavyweight functioning successfully at 250lbs! He wouldn't, he would be a slow, rotund ,obese turtle, unable to get out of his own way and with no functional stamina , a Happy Humphrey!
If Marciano would have been more effective at 200/225lbs he would have fought at that weight! There was absolutely nothing preventing him from doing so except the common sense to know at what weight he performed best!
Next time you attempt to lay bricks, put some cement in with the sand.

Yes why is that? They’re not as daft as they make out.
