2 Americans fighting for the undisputed Heavy weight championship! this might happen again in 2016 if Wilder wins the other belts....

Fitness at its finest and memory's of those Championship rounds when heavyweights were fit to fight it at an athletic pace.....Like McVey said quite disheartening throwing your best and seeing zero results....If Tyson had that one ingredient that Marciano had "disdain for pain" who know how far he could have went

GREAT fight...watched it dozens of times...they had the ultimate respect for each other after the fight. GREAT line from JJW..."Marciano didn't understand pain!"...that pretty much sums up The Rock.

To think certain posters here are critical of this version of Walcott. He looks far from washed up to me.

I can remember reading an article years ago about Walcott stating that it wasn't a lack of fire in his belly that he lost, it was lack of food. Could be true.

The question that is," the elephant in the room", is would the result have been any different if Walcott was younger ,for example the Walcott that took Louis to a close decision?
    Ditto Ezzard Charles.

Walcott was very disrespectful of Rocky prior to the bout. This changed I am sure once the bell rang and Joe realized he was not fighting a wide open target like he thought.

Walcott came in very fit and the his performance and physical condition was remarkable and he took some good shots, that punch was a game closer for anyman

That doesn't answer the question because if he had been younger he may not have been caught with that punch .
Given that Walcott was in front going into the 13th round ,its very possible a younger Walcott may have avoided being caught and managed to box to a decision thereby retaining his title.

It's possible. I have great respect for Walcott but most of the time he lost his most important bouts.
