If Tyson wins the first 4 rounds of any fight- he's not going to lose that fight.

Interesting, I would like to see how Tyson would handle the pressure of fighting a guy who was not intimated by him ( WE KNOW HOLYFIELD) but with Marciano there would be a guy that could punch as hard as Tyson and not have any fear. If Marciano fought in Tyson era he would be more muscular not to mention the size growth of each decade and if Tyson went back to the 50's he may not have the instant muscle growth from his 200lb and below amateur days to the 215+ pro days but Tyson would also not have that RAGE that made him bite of Evanders ear...this would be a good one but heart and determination strongly in Rocco's favor

Tyson would smash Marciano inside a few rounds IMO.

Right, because we all know Holyfield was 185 pounds ,5'11 swarmer, when he fight Tyson, right?

That is pure speculation.I've began to wonder whether or not that you and SuzieQ49 are the same person because both of you advocate that Rocky Marciano would be fighting at 200+ pounds above just because of he walks around that weight.

Have you people considered that what will happen to Marciano's stamina and workrate if he's fighting at 200+ pounds? He would be much slower and he would tire easily. That's why Rocky trim down to 185 pounds during his reign.Because it works for his body frame and that was his natural fighting weight.

Saying that Rocky could easily fight at 215+lbs today was like saying that Primo Carnera would be an 8 foot tall and 400 lbs boxer if he fights today because he can gain access to modern supplement.

genetics usually are proof that sons are larger than there fathers, unless the mother is 4"11 and the father is 6"5 and while Tyson weighed 200 in the amateurs and gained a quick 15 lbs of muscle. Marciano was a freak and trained hard for 15 round fights....4 decades later with modern muscle building technique (not to mention steroids that Mike appeared to have symptoms of (RAGE,Ear-Biting) but if we took the 5"10 Tyson back a few decades he would not have all that enhancement......The area that I see the largest difference between Marciano and Tyson is not size, its heart (Marciano got off the floor to win 2X) while Tyson proved he could not 5X, also only once did Tyson stop a man after the 8th round and that was trial horse Jose Ribalta ...Marciano could put on 30 lbs of muscle (I did) and still have loads of stamina in a 12 round fight.

    Very good observation. :good

Rocky would probably weigh around 220 lbs today.

Rocky was all torso, sawed-off stumps for legs, lil' T-Rex arms, and narrow sloped-shoulders. Where the hell is any weight going to go but his gut? His melon was already in bobble-head proportions.

How do you think Rocky would do at Cruiserweight(200lb) today against fighters like Yoan Pablo Hernandez, Lebedev, Tarver, Huck, Wlodaarczyk, kayode, afolabi, or even dawson if he bumped up from 75?

Sorry but I think the Rock would be dealt with by around the 5th or 6th round.

Like most fighters pre 1960, he had smaller legs in constrast to his modern peers if the tale of the tape is to believed.

    Tyson: 18" Calf 27" Thighs
    Marciano: 14 3/4" Calf 22" Thighs
    Tua: 19" Calf 30" Thighs

I don't think his steak and potato diet was ideal for keeping muscle mass.

It's fine for keeping muscle mass.

The idea that muscles on an athlete will shrink if he doesn't take the latest 'hi-tech protein' shake every 2 hours is a complete fallacy propagated by the people who manufacture 'hi tech' protein shakes. .... and it appeals to obssessive-compulsive bodybuilders.

Nutrition, while important, is seriously overrated.

He would be fantastic. He was a great, great fighter. I cautiously pick him to beat any sub-200 pounder.

Eating one big meal a day, rich in fat and starch...nah.

Not talking "hi tech" shakes which are garbage anyway, just a solid healthy diet.
