Has anyone seen it? Jon Favreau plays Rocky. Great film, in my opinion. You'd think that his story wouldn't be a good one since everyone knows that he never lost in the ring. But the movie was still solid, especially regarding things such as his rough childhood, the near death of Carmine Vingo, and his fight with Joe Louis; all of which tested him mentally. Anyone else seen this film?

I did see parts of it but never the whole thing. Never got around to it. The parts I saw weren't dramatic at all, but seemed sort of charming. I don't think I saw a bit of fight scenes. I must not have seen much.

It's okay. Good for a TV film I suppose.

One thing I didn't really like is that they downplayed the fact that Joe Louis was old when he fought Rocky. They made it seem like it was a fair fight, as if Joe was still a threat with a capital T.

Christ, I taped it off Showtime back when it first ran in '99......... Good flick; not great.... It has some very good points........... I was not crazy with Jon Favreau, but he did good enough........ George C. Scott is always a plus factor in a film.........

YEy i saw it pretty good movie, havent seen it since it came out though.

I remember when he was gonna beat that reporter up when he made a racial remark about Joe Louis, some good stuff he really admired Louis and it hurt him when he stopped Louis heard he cried after he beat him and Joe had to console him.

I like the bit with Lou Ambers in the diner

The guy who played Louis looked nothing like him

The guy who played Louis didn't do a good job. The film was good but I wish there were parts that had Ezzard and the first Walcott fights.

...Either of you fellows see James Toney playing Frazier in the Ali movie? ...Because I took similar exceptions to that. No offense to James Toney.

Rest in the side. It was good for a tv flick. Last film of george c scott i think, and the main guy who plays the rock is a good actor, like how they showed his weird obsession with money, he refused to have cheques and had to have cash, i heard he hid loads that was never found after he died so suddenly

There was a reason why he wanted cash and not checks, and other stuff.

He was a kid of the depression, and he rembers how the banks screw evey one and took the money and ran during the crash of 29.

That was pretty much firm in his head.
