Sounds a bit like Holmes V Tyson then, except Louis was only hated by the government whereas everyone hated Holmes I've seen the film in question a few times and it tells a good story, but it could have been done better, Marciano deserves a blockbuster. Hell if that piece of **** Carter can get a big budget film made in his name then why can't a decent guy like the rock? The guy who played Marciano in that film was nowhere near as bad as Will Smith in 'Ali' by the way, that film was ****ing awful, I fell asleep in the cinema watching it.
?? Louis was the favor, I belive Holmes was the underdog going into the Tyson fight. Marciano was not view in Louis's class as a fighter, even a old fighter at the time. Marciano relly needed to prove himself with the media at the time, he would get that chance on Sept 23, 1952. But at the time, Marciano was view as a guy with a punch that will get school when he ran into a boxer.
Just to clarify - I wasn't referring to who was the favourite with the bookies and writers, I was talking about who the fans wanted to win.
Here is the scene of the Joe Louis fight. I think they did a good job. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NP4ICRRGAs[/ame]
To be fair, Louis was favored to win the fight. Marciano was the underdog. Just saw that was said already. Also, some parts with Louis in that movie aren't true but it was still good.
Yeah...like the part where Rocky visits Joe in the Mental Hospital. Joe didn't get admitted until the 1970s, I believe--long after Rocky's death. The movie also portrayed Rocky as an only child. His siblings (including his biased brother, Peter) did not exist in this film. What other parts where false?
