Not sure but Ted Lowry lived until 2010 and was 90 years old. I saw an interview with him years back and despite how many fights he was in, he was still very sharp.

Nice little article for anyone that doesn't know him

all the prayer poured on for Vingo during the Marciano aftermath by many fans as well as Marciano and his family were like money in the bank for Vingo who has lived to a ripe old age

hard to see the height difference from the video because Marciano is facing the camera but Vingo was at least 4-5 inches taller than Marciano. One of the things I did confirm by meeting with friends of Marciano was that Marciano was indeed 5"11 + a few hairs taller, Marciano fought short...Vingo looked like he was crouched a bit in the slug fest exchanges with Marciano and was going blow for blow for a while but you can still see a big height difference...in retrospect a very bad move for anyone...Vingo was lanky but had big shoulders and arms and decent legs but not thick like Marciano's shorter tree truck legs but he had a long slim torso...one thing sure about him was that he had a great heart but it almost killed him...amazing that B.B. was actually there to see that piece of history first hand

Would've been fascinating to see Marciano-Beshore, when Rocky was actually looking down on a shorter opponent he also outreached. From all the extant footage of both though, it's hard to imagine him making any changes for the 5'9" Freddie, but strange to think Rock might have tried fighting short in that one. An interesting visual to contemplate.

Damn was Rocky a brute at 185 ... looks as strong as Chuvalo with twice the speed and power ... without question one of the very best under 200 that ever laced them up .... an animal ..

G-d bless you very few that post here can speak of the 1st hand knowledge you have and I can tell that your Dad prepped you well with his days as a 1st hand spectator and Gym rat....That 1st hand knowledge is lost today but Burt you can reach very far back. I also have family that was close to boxing and had a lot of 1st hand knowledge and I can understand the difference of book knowledge and 1st hand opinions....You still respect a lot of the present group and see the pluses and minuses of the era's...very rare

That's some serious praise but you've obviously put the time in and didn't come to that conclusion lightly.
