I think Marciano would batter and KO Chambers mercilessly.
I suspect others will have contrary opinion, so I asked the question to see. A lot of people here like "modern" HWs over the likes of Marciano.

Thing is, Chambers wasn't even a big guy. He was still a flabby boy at 208 pounds yet he lasted into the 12th round with prime Wlad. He also beat the huge Dimintrenko.

On paper this should be an easy fight for Marciano as he's an ATG and Chambers was a one time contender who will likely be forgotten. But Eddie was true to his name " fast" and could box a bit. He was stopped only once in 46 fights and that was in the final round against Wladimir Klitscko. And if Eddie had spent that last round running for dear life he might have heard the final. While his opposition wasn't stellar, he did manage to beat some ranked contenders in Brock, Peter, and Dimetrenko as well - all of whom were pretty strong big men. He wasn't a terribly large heavyweight by the standards of the era he fought in, but at the time he fought Wlad he was 6'1", 210 lbs and 27 years of age - meaning he was both bigger and younger than any of Marciano's best opponents. He also hadn't suffered as much wear and tear as those guys did.. Lastly, Eddie was a cautious fighter which in truth limited some of his success. But against Marciano it might limit the Rock's opportunities to score an easy knockout as Chambers won't fight inside the pocket with him.. I can't bring myself to pick Eddie Chambers over Rocky Marciano.. But nor can I see this being a walk in the park..

Marciano would beat Chambers from pillar to post before a mid round stoppage or KO. Chambers is a little slick, but, he does not have the firepower to deter Rocky one bit. And he does not have the conditioning either. Chambers never had any business at Heavyweight. Only his lack of discipline led him there. Wlad should be truly ashamed of himself for letting that fight go 12 rounds. Chambers was knocked into oblivion with the first meaningful punch landed by either men all night. Rock would land it (and then some) much earlier.

What if you live on a planet where Chambers has never been stopped early and where worse people than Chambers have gone rounds with Marciano?

then u'd be living also on the planet where eddie chambers has even one decent opponent outside wlad K on his resume, so no ones surpised hes not been stopped early when hes facing bums, journeymen and his best opposition are prospects that never made it, including the losses.

Dimetrenko was a rather menacing force to be reckoned with several years ago. He was top 10 ranked and a monster at 6'7", 240 lbs. and Chambers handed him his first loss. Calvin Brock was a talented fighter and ranked as well. Peter was a good win but also admitedly a horrible 265 lbs when they fought so that win is a bit tainted. But Chamber's resume isn't bad at all.

I think that if you use Eddie Chambers and "slick" in the same post...

Yes it's the classic " who has he beaten and who have they beaten and who have THEY beaten ". Argument..
