Sharp punches is key word Dave. Forman was not a sharp puncher. He hit hard, but was awkward, missed a lot, and had to conserve energy all the time. Marciano was hit by sharp HARD punches in his knockdowns, yet he bounced up fine both times, and went into more agggresive mode.
Solid post. Surely we're not going to rate punching power based on one good night nowadays. Jesus, that'd make Renaldo Snipes one of the best heavyweight punchers of the decade. :huh
Excellent point! At the end of the day, Foreman generally didn't end fights with just one shot, but neither did Marciano (with two or three exceptions). The fact remains that the guys Foreman beat down were bigger, stronger, more able men than the ones Marciano tackled. Both guys go foreward, with Foreman having a reverse gear but hardly using it. Foreman would back Marciano up as long as it took, shoving him back and then blasting. I can't see the Rock doing much better than Marciano. All respect to Rocky, but he is out-everythinged at his own game. He did overcome disadvantages, but not so many in one package as he would in Foreman.
Dont compare the 39 year old Foreman of the Qawi fight with the wrecking machine who beat Norton,it goes both ways!
Sombody has to be. The cases throughout history are more than numerous but dont count because nobody can or will try to do it today.
The only racist I see on this forum is you.And what a rude , bigoted ,unsavoury , boorish, thoroughly nasty piece of work you are.
Walcott II Matthews went out early. The Rock has 11 first round kos. Thats about it on the world class perhaps. I was more talking about stopping them with one or 2 punchings. Layne, Matthews, Walcott, and others were stop with 1 or 2 punchings.
in between clubbing him with jabs and uppercuts foreman leans all over rocky, walks him into corners and proceeds to beat the living **** out of him.. foreman would be rocky marcianos worst matchup ever.. an absolute stylistic nightmare...
