Well lets just say D'Amato was refering to ANY swarmer type, including Marciano and Frazier. And Tyson incidentally.
First, you bolded stuff I never said. Rocky was never outpunched. Outboxed, yeah, but he made up for it. How do you know Foreman hit harder than Walcott? Walcott can outbox Foreman any day of the week. Better boxing skill.
..This is a put on, right? Ridiculous!!! Foreman would swat Marciano with an uppercut and the only feet touching the canvas would be the referees and George's. The only thing Marciano had on Foreman was stamina, but why would Foreman need that in a two or three round fight?
Rocky wasn't the typical swarmer. Yeah, he was a swarmer, but also possesed a very unorthodox boxing style. The fact he could smash you with both hands is very important - Tyson could to a point, Frazier never had that in his arsenal.
Well Marciano was one of the guys he considered Foreman would go over the top of. I happen to agree completely, go forward vs Foreman at your own peril. Foreman KO2
By Walcott? -He gets up and commences to beat the tar out of him. George could have been caught early, but that would be against huge hitters; not Walcott. You are placing Walcott among history's all time great power punchers. Walcott I know is a good puncher, and deserves mentioning, but he doesn't belong in the same bracket as what we are talking about.
