Agreed. Rock would wear Ward down hitting his arms, body, shoulders until that head shot got through. Rocky hit harder than Kovalev. Lol

I was thinking about this matchup recently. Marciano would beat Dre's dick in the dirt (no pun intended). Ward strategy of coming on late vs Kovalev worked due to the latter's poor stamina and exploiting his lack of inside fighting skill. Of course there were the roughhouse tactics that come with every Ward fight so don't even need to get into that. Marciano would be throwing endless full wound power punches from 1 round on Ward's head, body, arms until he was nothing more than a writhing heap on the canvas.

Marciano would actually carry out Kovalev's failed promise of ending Ward's boxing career, nobody who shared the ring with The Rock was ever the same again.

Were they never the same again or were they nearly 40 or past 40 in an era where boxing careers did not last long?

Nah that's just the rhetoric Marciano haters spout. Ezzard Charles, a much greater fighter than Ward, was younger than Ward is now when fought Marciano. He went from an ATG to perennial loser after two horrific beatings, Jersey Joe was The WHC, after Marciano brutalized him he never fought ever again.

How many times was Ezzard Charles stopped before his fight with Marciano? How many losses did he take? And yes, he might have been younger than Ward/Kov, but in that era he is MUCH older than them. How old was Walcott again? Exactly.

Look at this finish in the 8th. Rocky's already had to have thrown 500 punches by then and does he look the least bit tired?? Lol

Completely different era. And I did pick Joshua due to age. You must have missed all of my prediction threads. The only reason I gloated in your face is because you're a racist piece of ****. It's fun to bring up stuff like Ward stopping Kovalev and Joshua stopping Wlad because it upsets you.

Charles fought in a much tougher era, competed more frequently and went up to HW. Make Ward go through his CV in chronological order and he picks up dozens of losses. Walcott improved as a fighter into his 30s, he was the HW champ and there's really no basis on film at least to suggest he was past it when he fought Marciano. Marciano ended his career.

Marcianos best wins are either ancient fighters back in an era where fighters aged awful, or guys who had been stopped or lost more than a handful of times. How old was Walcott when Marciano "ended his career"?

So if Wlad retires, are you going to credit Joshua for "ending" his career LOL. Age is irrelevant huh?
