Give both fighters a full training camp, how do you see this one going?

Thought about this fight today, funnily enough.

Have to favour "The Rock", but I can also envision "The Nightmare" using Rocky's head for a speedball.

Side note: Marciano/Holyfield is a fight I'd love to hear more about!

So who'd win between a 50's era blown up light heavyweight, and a y2k 250 lb. monster? Gee, I have know idea.

I do know that they made weight classes for a good reason though.

Bad match up for rocky... Peter is way bigger, the difference in size iz like 60 lbs, crazy... Peter was very strong, had a good chin and could punch... He stops rocky in few rounds

Sam Peter was about as good as Rex Layne, but without a signature win on his resume.

The weight classes didn't stop James Toney schooling him.

Why couldn't he stop Toney in a few rounds?

    Peter is bigger and stronger.
Marciano doesn't have 1/10th the defense and skills Toney did. Peter stops him.

Who's the best fighter Peter was able to overwhelm with his size and strength?

Marciano would be Peter's smallest opponent.

James Toney used to be a MW, how is he smaller than Marciano?

Marciano by mid to late stoppage. Peter would be gassing by the mid way point.

Toney is one of the best defensive fighters of all time, and was possibly roided also.
He's a counterpuncher who mostly fights of his back foot while rocky is a come forward swarmer and would go toe to toe with peter who would spark him cause he's way bigger, punches harder and has a better chin.
He could afford himself to get hit with few rocky's punches while landing one.
    It's that simple

Firstly, lets not make Peter out to be some superheavyweight monster.

He was just a fat poorly conditioned heavyweight.

Secondly, his credentials as a puncher don't stack up too well against elite opposition.

There are weight classes for reasons, but this guy isn’t one of them.
