Rocky creams him just like he did Rex Layne.. Springs off the canvas like a jack in the box with a right hands that goes out through the back of Peters dome. Peter wouldn't see it coming and it would be over before he knew what happened.
Because Rocky was a professional fighter. It's not like comparing men off the street who don't fight. Would you pick Johnny Paycheck to beat Golovkin?
Isn't it normal to pick peak versions of a fighter? Peter was out of shape rather often, and he did redeem himself in the rematch by shutting out Toney after he actually started using his jab. Sam even used uppercuts in the 2nd fight. Against a caveman clubber Toney would always shine, but Peter was able to learn, rethink his mistakes and come in more skilled than before. I do think it's hard to assess Peter as he was too fat in most of his fights when he should have never been north of 240 pounds.
Rocky breaks him down late for the stoppage but has to take some big shots along the way and might get decked a time or two.
It's not bull****. It's a valid question. Peter is much bigger, stronger, and harder hitting than Marciano. Marciano was knocked down by an old Walcott. You don't think Peter could do it? It seems to me that many posters on this forum think with their hearts, rather than using logic. The facts are that Peter was a harder puncher than Marciano, and outweighed him by 60 pounds. Marciano wouldn't even be a top 10 contender in today's HW division. He's too small and has too short a reach.
