You have always been eccentric, but the cheese has really slipped off the cracker in recent years.

There is nothing more eccentric than thinking some tiny garlic eater riddled with slow twitch and the footwork of Herman Munster is going to compete with an athlete like Vander.

Evanders whole legacy is based on the Tyson fights…working backwards from there is building up to that point. His cruiser weight days were a learning curve. Nobody around any good ant that time. Only Qawi could test him…and he gave holy life and death.

Holyfield hits harder? I think not, but I agree it's a good matchup. I favor Rocky -- especially 1951-53 Rocky when he was at his strongest. Big dominant fighters like Liston, Lewis and Foreman would neutralize Marciano's usual strength and power advantage but I'm uncertain Evander had what it took. I wouldn't be shocked at a Holy win but my money's on the Rock.

    I don’t agree but that’s pretty funny.

Where Holyfield would really meet his match is on the inside, where Marciano dominates him and eventually sets up a Suzie Q, Marciano KO somewhere past 10

Nobody seriously believes this. At least nobody who was paying attention in the 80's and 90's.

What happens when two guys who rely on being the toughest SOB meet up?

My guess would be it goes the distance with both men looking half to 3/4's dead by the end from all the damage they did to each other.

I like the Rock in this one. I might even put some cash on it. Would be a brutal fight and both might come out of it messed up.

It’s the truth. Had Holyfield not beat Tyson he goes down as “that cruiser who could beat old Foreman, Old Larry before losing 2 of of 3 against that waster Bowe”

As harsh as that sounds, and I don’t entirely agree, that’s about the gist of it. Evander was considered quite exciting without being a great HW.

I was there. Without Tyson Evander never gets that HW ancceptance he gets now. Without Tyson and redemption against Moorer, Holyfield was simply a stop gap cheese champ coming after Tysons jail term.

Holyfield took the punches of Tyson and Foreman, and he was too strong for Tyson on the inside.

Whereas at cruiser, the condition of this thread, Qawi was stronger inside than Holyfield.

    This is Cruiser Holyfield, though.
