    Besides Louis, anyone else is competitive, or can win, against The Rock?

    I'll give it a go. Other than Louis, IMO only Baer has a chance to prevail via an early KO.

    Joe Louis (prime era)
    Rocky KOed early to mid rounds

    Hannibal..good analysis of all the potential fights. Basically, The Rock would rule the 30's if Louis wasn't around. I didn't put Conn in the mix because that was the 40's and WW2 changed the boxing scene.

    Other than Louis, I can see only Schmeling and Baer being potential problems for Marciano. Not saying they'd be favoured to win, but if they're on song they could make it a tough night in the office.

    Schmeling is always a darkhorse. The first Louis fight before a "Adolf" intervened....showed Schmeling as a potential dangerous opponent.

    I think that he would have lost to somebody on that list.

    It is not so much that they were better than his real world opponents; it is more that they posed a wider range of stylistic problems.

    I'm not sure with his 68" reach if he could reach it. His 188lb prime weight size would be a factor too. Not impossible, just imo its more likely Primo loses a wide decision. Unless he gasses against a sustained body attack...

    If Rocky gets one in on Primo's prognathic jaw, the giant goes down, I'm just sayin',....to last the limit with Rocky would be some feat.....and I don't think he could do it...

    I don't see why Farr couldn't last the distance and maybe take 3 /4 rounds. Schmeling and Baer would be competitive imo, but both lose eventually.Sharkey, on a good night could outsmart him, but its probable those shots going "south " would extinguish his ambition.

    Rocky would destroy Farr, schmeling would give him a tough fight but lose. King would be knocked around the ring. Max baer may hurt rock but still lose, sharkey could make it interesting for few rounds. Carnrera is going late rounds but pulled out

    Farr goes the distance twice with Max Baer, winning one and also Joe Louis ,yet Marciano destroys him?
