Good brawl. Povetkin has greater skills and is game as the day is long. Marciano is whatever you claim him to be, somewhere on the spectrum of extremely tough and a top notch attrition fighter. Pick em.
Povetkin has the better skills of the two and is bigger but Marciano is solid and has much better one punch knockout power. Anything could happen in a fight between these two.
Povektin will never get the credit he deserves because he was never the #1 guy while active in his time, but he is very good. He's skilled, hit hard, has fast hands, and a very good chin. In addition, he's got about 35 pounds on Marciano. My best guess is this is a great fight that could go either way, but I think Povetkin wins on points or gets a late round TKO type of stoppage. While Rocky can punch hard, I think Povetkin has a better chin that say either Charles, Moore or Walcott. Only Wlad put Povetkin down, that's it.
I think Marciano would absolutely ruin him. Rocky is far more skilled. Has better power. Better output and stamina. Better form and mechanics. Far greater pace. Povetkin would need a crowbar imo. Look at the disparity between the Takam fight and the Walcott fight. After KOing Takam in the 10th, Povetkin slowly walks away. After Rocky KO'd Walcott in the 13th, he turns his body with sharp movements, and sprints across the ring, his face still full of life and energy. Levels.
Povetkin is one of the most grossly overrated heavyweights ever around here (not the Classic so much as the General, but I've never seen so much praise bestowed up on what I consider such a mediocre contender). I think Marciano beats him and breaks him down, physically and mentally.
I’m not privy to the general forums sentiment, but Ill take your word for it. I definitely agree that Rocky beats him and breaks him down.
Maybe, but he’s not as skilled as Rocky. Unless we’re going by Bert Sugarisms, and only applying that filter for Rocky. Povetkin is awesome, but a level below Rocky, maybe several.
No doubt about it. He is one of the best inside punchers/fighters I've seen. He punches with accuracy and power to the head and body. Povetkin, like Evander Holyfield maintains technique in a tough fight that is better than most boxers have while shadow boxing. An excellent technician with power.
He might be 4th or 5th. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=alexandar+povetkin&&view=detail&mid=72D56E87F9370B8CD81472D56E87F9370B8CD814&FORM=VRDGAR
