Joshua was almost a head bigger than him and Andy appears to have a very short reach. I am friendly with many fighters and the measurements are often quite off- I have seen it first hand many times...pictures dont lie and Povetkin was listed at 6'2 but looked taller than Andy so if Andy's 6'2 maybe Joshua is 6'8 - the point is Andy fought Joshua in his punching range and had a much shorter reach than Anthony

As far as Joshua, he has beaten some good fighters that can punch and has been hit, what Andy did was throw in bunches and Joshua got hit with the hook. Povetkin can punch and so can Dillian Whyte and so can Vlad Klitschko, Andy fought Joshua inside Anthony's reach and threw volleys of 4-5 punches. Andy R can punch but not a killer puncher but the pressure is what did it

Anthony will be back but will have to overcome this and it may take time - Wilder is a strong puncher for a guy who weighed 212lbs vs Fury and 214 for Ortiz but he can be surprised also- Funny if its Andy Ruiz who beats them both

Big bodies can be built but a chin is a chin is a chin

Two days ago, I could have made you pick Joshua, over a lot of the great fighters of history!

For goodness sake, you are trying to rationalize picking Ruiz over some of them now!
Let's say that this guy had beaten Joe Louis or Jack Dempsey?

Would you have been so quick to build him up, or look for excuses for the fallen?

    I suspect not!

Yeah like Marciano landed flush punch after flush punch against the 160-170 pound Ted Lowry and could never hurt him in their two fights.

He shouldn't be put with the all time greats, but he did put up a very good performance, and he does deserve a lot more credit than a lot of the post fight commentry is giving him.

And Foreman won a decision which was boo'd by the entire arena when he beat LHW Peralta.
    Whats your point goofy?

Nothing unusual about fighters being listed taller today. Actually it’s the norm. Bigger sells

But it never happened before, right? It only happens when convenient to your argument.

People rag on Galento because of his physique and knock Joe Louis for being briefly dropped by Galento who was 240 pounds, 20 lbs lighter and with the same physique as Andy Ruiz. Imagine if Louis had been stopped by Galento......

Your responses are always agenda driven. I am sure you have never watched any of these fights. I have no interest in debating with you. You are entitled to your opinion. And, I find it unlikely many will support your position.

Lol great I have no interest in typing to you. You have a clear agenda. This is why you still praise fighters like Jack Dempsey, Rocky Marciano, Gene Tunny ect. You think I give a damn what people like you support? You are beyond help. A bunch of biased delusional people who still live in your little fantasy world where 180 pound or smaller fighters could modern sized and skilled fighters because of a clearly obvious reason. Blocked.

...never said that but most fighters are shorter then listed. How does people lying about their height help my argument? Lol I don’t put nearly as much emphasis on height and weight past a certain point as you probably do. I think if a short fighter fights like a short fighter he’s fine much like a tall man should make himself taller. I’ve sparred with many people in my life some 300 pounds some 180 and the hardest I was hit was by a 200 pounder. Personally I think all these men coming in out of shape is a disgrace to the sport and what the HW division has become. These guys throw 25 punches a round and are seriously winded after 6.

Again, where did I ever make such a pick. You are fabricating facts like your cohorts here are fabricating heights and weights to benefit their agendas. This board has abandoned fact for fiction, analysis for dogma.

    Jolly good work.

I would say Rocky Marciano would be stopped by Manny Pacquiao. Probably in the first round.
