Cockell had 14 fights at heavyweight winning10 ,he scored just 3 stoppages 2 over no hopers and 1 over a 40 years old Farr.He was stopped in all his defeats.
Ruiz has had 36 fights all at heavy, losing 2, both to men who have held versions of the title.he has never been stopped and has scored 22 ko's.
Apart from also being fat I see no other similarities with Cockell.

Ahh thought you meant ever ranked. Disregard. Although I don’t place as much importance as you do as if they ranked that second. To each their own in that regard. I get the importance of it though.

Ruiz isn't going to beat an ATG who is dead serious about his craft. Andy is a very good boxer with quick hands for a heavyweight but he isn't powerful enough or quick enough to keep Marciano off of him.

I'm undecided here regarding the result ,but as to historical standing, Marciano is streets ahead of Ruiz.

    Honestly, I'd favour Ruiz.

He get's downplayed for his weight but he gets stuff done.

I think he means if Ruiz got into similar shape (body fat %) as Marciano, he'd be lighter than Marciano.
    Which seems reasonable.

Thing is it's not exactly unbelievable that a guy the weight of Ruiz that has that power, hand speed, durability and pretty good cardio for his size could beat a 185 pound man, but Rocky was probably the best under 200 pound fighter in boxing ever along with Joe Louis H2H. It wouldn't be hard to believe that if they fought that Ruiz would drop Rocky and if he did Rocky better hold on, but I'm gonna go with Rocky via a semi competitive decision where Ruiz is durable enough to get to the final bell and possibly not get even Knocked down, if it's the Ruiz of his last two fights then Rocky confidently wins every round.

I think the reason is after the 50's we have seen fatter more out of shape guys actually get some success across combat sports.

In boxing guys like George Foreman, Tyson Fury, Samuel Peter, Andy Ruiz, Tony Tubbs and James Toney were not very aesthetic but did get success no matter what we think of them.

MMA has guys like Mark Hunt, Roy Nelson, Derrick Lewis and Chris Barnett who who produced some highlight reel victories. Josh Barnett and Daniel Cormier are two of the best heavyweights in MMA history and were not exactly good to look at. Tony Johnson is another one.

Kickboxing has Ismael Lazaar (Probably the worst physique out of everyone here), Tarik Khbabez, Mighty Mo etc

I think that the stamina and tenacity of Rocky Marciano prevails, hard body shots knock the Snickers out of Andy Ruiz. While Ruiz was larger, he would huff and puff as Marciano forces him into a very fast pace. KO 14 for Rocky Marciano who is badly lacerated about the eyebrows.
