:lol:When all else fails (which it has, horribly) resort to personal attacks and an "I'm better than you and I don't care!" facade. That's the spirit.

"He soundly thrashed Tarver and Johnson , two who defeated Roy Jones as well as almost fought a prime Jones to a standstill ... that fight was very close... he had the size and skills to make it a fight , just not a win ..."

The Johnson that Hopkins faced and the Johnson that Jones faced were nothing alike, period. Not to mention you're considering a peak Hopkins and a faded Jones in your comparison. Same with Tarver, but to a lesser extent and in a different fashion. Hopkins was no longer in his prime, but Tarver was a shell in that fight. Not that he was ever that good, but again, your comparisons between Jones and Hopkins at different points in their careers are seen from a very narrow perspective.

To the next point, by "very close" which fight were you referring to? If it was indeed Jones/Hopkins, then there's really nothing I can do but laugh, move on to the next point, and await your apology.

Despite the fact I disagree with your points, don't you think it would have been in better spirit to respond like above than to make the mean spirited comment that you did? You don't admit or think that call someone's post garbage in a smirking fashion an insult?

That's just how I do business, unless challenged otherwise. I found it hard to take someone seriously who was making the points you were making and giving Hopkins a shot at a guy like Marciano. On the level, what I said was probably insulting, but when I can't take the point being made seriously, that's normally how I'll respond to see if it can at least be justified. Probably not the best way to go about things, but half the time I just don't care enough to put the effort into it.

I got your point ... for the record I clearly favored Marciano to win by KO ...

    HE,

You said Hopkins is naturally a bigger man than Rocky. That is why people are disagreeing with you. You have no evidence to support your theory, while there is loads of evidence that support the opposite.

SQ You are an extremely knowledgable guy not to mention highly dedicated and accomplished. Why the need to include the opinions of others to validate your opinions ?

I said Hopkins is considerably taller with a longer reach. He could easily reach 200 pounds walking around .. Rocky was squat and thickly muscled ... an argument can be made either way .... it's not that important to keep going on about ...

I agree and only believe he could win by knockout.

It's simply a case of Hopkins being a very good middleweight and Marciano being a strong crusierweight. Hopkins isn't hurting Marciano. Marciano keeps coming. He doesn't get tired. He's strong as an ox. I don't see Hopkins winning.

In a normal HW fight (old-time) Marciano either cleans his clock or Hop fakes a low blow or something like that (assuming this is the Hop that beat Tarver). The catchweight changes everything here
