In summary Byrd proved himself against giants , medium-sized heavyweights and smaller ones, he also proved himself against southpaws.
Which slick boxing 200lbs plus southpaw did Marciano prove himself against?

Byrd can't hurt Rocky ? He doesn't need to, what he needs to do is outbox him!
Bryd had as much pop as Lastarza and a better chin he went the distance in one fight and 11 rds in another.
Charles went 15rds with Rocky and he traded with him!

Watch 47-55 his fights he moved his feet a lot, ton of upperbody movement he looked at his best here, watch him from Valdes in 53 he looks terrific. Probably at his best in 51 when he looked slightly faster than 55, but only slightly

Nobody is saying Bryd was not a good contender.

But Moore, Walcott and Charles were great fighters. It's not fair to compare.

I dont buy this cr@p about one era being perceived to be greater than another era automatically results in contenders from one end beating the champions in the other. An awful lot of knowledge needs to be absorbed to back things up even part of the way and I am not seeing it here.

This conclusion is never met by folks who have researched both eras equally.

It's not good enough to pick the more recent era and decide the muscles are the deciding factor.

byrd gets stopped early by rocky. rock was way tougher than vits, byrds tricks wont work on him though they may wind him up something chronic until the turnaround.
