Touching story then you realize all these guys you mentioned were heavyweights not 180 pound cruiser weights. Then you also realize Byrd beat Oquendo, McCline and Williamson so try again.

The only people who beat Byrd in his prime were 6'6 240 pound Wlad, and 6'3 244 pound Ike Ibeabuchi. Marciano on the other hand got beat by 180 pound Roland LaStarza and 177 pound Ted Lowry who almost knocked him out. The only people who Marciano beat in his career worth mentioning was 40 year old natural 160 pound glass chin Archie Moore, 200 year old glass chin washed up Joe Louis, 198 year old 190 pound washed up Jersey Joe Walcott and washed up 175 pound Ezzard Charles.

As I stated before if all of these guys were in their primes when Marciano fought him they are still light heavyweights and cruiserweights by modern standards. A average 6'6 250 pound fighter would destroy and elite 175 pound fighter.

Byrd was close to 6'2 and even though he started his career at 169 with in 5 fights he was 200 pounds and he stayed that weight until he was past his prime and dropped to 190. If Marciano was a natural heavyweight he would of weighed that amount. He stated between 180 and 189 because that is his weight. There is no reason for him to stay 180 pounds of he was a natural 220 pound guy.
